hopefully when they end the war on drugs it'll make it better for them, but NAFTA really ed them over because our cheap agricultural products flooded their markets. still waiting for another strongarm to take over and consolidate power there.

If anything is ever going to get better in Mexico, it's going to have to start with the people. At some point they need to say in one voice that they're not going to allow their country to be used as a playground for drug wars. They need to learn from US or the Europeans how to start a revolution and come out of it with a better country/situation.

Mexico has more Catholics than any other country and they're pretty devout, I'm betting most common people in Mexico have no problem with what the Pope said. If the higher ups have a problem with what he said then maybe they should do something to help get rid of that stigma.
