No timetable for his return. Could be minor, but any knee surgery is no joke tbh.

What is the deal with the Thunder this year? It's like they've become the Blazers all of sudden. Not good.

OKC had several years of no injuries at all so they've built up some bad karma that is now taking it's toll.

Blazers on the other hand, have apparently built their stadium over an Indian burial ground.

I think this is a huge loss for them.

Ibaka has legitimately become one of the best defenders in the league. He used to just get overrated on that end due to his flashy blocks, but over the past couple of years he's really made strides and has become fantastic defensively. OKC has good depth when it comes to bigs, but they'll REALLY miss his defense. Kanter sucks defensively. McGary is a rookie and is slow as . Collison has gotten up there in age and isn't as good of a defender as he used to be. Adams is solid defensively, but nothing special and he's foul-prone.

It'll also affect them offensively. Ibaka has become one of the best big man shooters in the league and is a legitimate threat from 3. None of their other bigs are remotely as good when it comes to shooting and spacing the floor, so this will make things harder on Westbrook/KD when it comes to getting in the paint.

If he's out for a long time, there's no way they get any higher than 8th, and no way they beat GS.

Time to concede the 8th spot to the Pelicans. That will do them good in the long run. Even though it's not his fault, it will give management an excuse to replace Brooks.

Side note: You have to wonder if Ibaka coming back so soon last year had any role to play in this. I realize it's a calf vs knee, but sometimes when you're injured you use other body parts to compensate. Either way, I think it's readily apparent that OKC doesn't take care of their players like they should.

Hmm...kind of sucks. I really want to see a healthy OKC team as an 8th seed against the Warriors.

If Abaka misses extended time they'll miss the post-season as well, and we'll new New Orleans get clobbered by the Dubs.

Non-issue. They have Kanter to keep them afloat, and they are simply doing this now so he will be ready for the postseason.

Slight chance this knocks them out of the 8-seed, but I doubt it.

OKC plays too hard. I will credit our guys, they know when to turn it on, and when to leave something in the tank. It's frustrating at times, but the Cavs game showed we can turn it on, it's still there, th eonly team that really worries me is Houston, but James Harden is no Kyrie Irving, and he has defensive lapses.

What I read is that they are doing this surgery now so that he will be ready for the playoffs.
