I like Russ, tbh... but tonight he had another episode of childlike behavior and basically fouled himself out of the game right in the clutch due to a tantrum... you can't do that when you're the only leader out there.

And without Tony, we'd be light at least 3.
You'd have won all 3 with just about anyone at point guard. His negative BPM for all but one ring (the Boobie Gibson year was the lone exception and he was only +0.5) suggests that not only would you not have been light 3 without Enrique, you'd probably have won at least one more without his cancerous below-replacement-impact ass dragging down the team come playoff time.

The Big Three's postseason Box Plus/Minus for all five rings:

    Duncan: +7.5, +11.6, +4.1, +7.2, +4.4
    Manu: N/A, +4.7, +8.7, +6.3, +6.6
    Enrique: N/A, -1.8, -2.0, +0.5, -1.2

And Kawhi was tied with Manu at +6.6 last year.

He is a fantastic athlete, but a mental midget.
Sure he's a compe or, but when tonite happens, we see how much he really understands about winning; Russ can't if he gets frustrated.

Without a PG + Manu, we don't win a championship.
Gotta have Tony, you are blind if you can't see it.

Mills, CoJo, Marco... cannot replace him. Don't care what your +/- says, watch the game when fast Tony plays.

Children, this is what happens when you can't create your own arguments and have to be spoonfed takes from other posters. BPM is an ok stat. Doesn't surplant the eye test about Tony's talent. It's about as good as using "4 rings F*****" as a stat.

Anyway if you are a fan of talented basketball, westbrook is good, no doubt, but who do we blame for making this a

    Westbrook -3 tonight

But seriously, using +/- in a vacuum has been thoroughly shot down in the past. It's the sign of a cherry picking argument because you have nothing else to back it up.

The "eye test" is completely useless for any serious analysis. Of course your "eye test" is going to make you think Enrique was key to any of those les because you're viewing them through Enriquesucker goggles.

BPM is not even remotely the same as one-game +/-, you moron.

I guess that would make Bonner one of the All-time greats. +/- is worse than BPM. Talk about a useless stat taken out of context and a clueless schmuck who doesn't know how to use it.

How come advanced metrics have no problem supporting the 'eye test'of TD, Manu, Kawhi being great, net positive players? Same with LeBron, KD, Dirk, Wade, Westbrook and other great players from other teams.

Funny how Rique's metrics are the only ones that are 'off' and don't support the 'eye test'.

Actually check that, cancerous Kobe is another guy who's metrics don't support his supposed greatness. His fanboys also come up with dumb excuses like 'metrics don't measure rings or killer instinct or mean underbites'.

No joke, I once read one of his fanboys say 'numbers lie' when the metrics didn't support his long held belief that Kobe is god. Think it was a comment on an ESPN article.

There's no comparison between Kobe and Parker. Kobe is a stat padder trying to get into the top 15 all time status.

Parker is just a talented guard who had lower than average assists. The eye test absolutely says Parker is better than cojo.

Love bpm all you want, but it's just another argument. It's not worth more than the eye test.

But anyway, nice Parker thread folks.I do like Westbrook, but for fan reasons don't root for him. He's immature and hasn't won . Boo hoo, player fans.
