Agreed. I love him but sometimes he's too much Pop.
Pop sat Danny and Kawhi remaining 8 minutes in the first quarter...
Even if we missed Baynes...Diaw playing with Ayres in the 3rd quarter?
These rotations can explain Amundson with 17 rebounds.
Agreed. I love him but sometimes he's too much Pop.
Well at least we beat the out of the wolves, though it would be nice if kawhi could ever make key in FTs. Let's just please play Portland in rd1, they can even have the hca
What is it about that team that you think makes them contenders? Is it their all star level talent? Their length? Their speed? Athleticism? Coaching? Yeah that's it, coaching, and guys who are willing to be coached. Do you think Pop is worried about one game in the regular season? Do you think he's going to go away from his lineup because someone is having a poor game? He's not done that yet and oh look, 5 rings and 29 other coaches who would sub out and don't have 5 rings.
This whole season is a pathetic performance. I mean seriously, Pop has had that statement like 10 times this season already. Lakers, Jazz, Nets, Knicks. If the Spurs can't even handle them, there's no way they'll win a game in the playoffs.
Doesn't matter. The Spurs will have another "pathetic " performance soon.
Yeah it works and he has the 5 rings, that also cost them a ring in 013 though over thinking and taking Tim out when all they needed was a board and that was a huge mistake. Pop is more often than not right and a great coach but at times he has his flaws like any one of us and is very stubborn with certain rotations and guys to the point he runs it into the ground whether wrong or right. He has a tendency to have his faves and they still get mins no matter how bad they are playing now or in the past. I agree on alot of what you say but he has his flaws and takes some of the blame as well.
BTW I would say Tim has something to do with those 5 rings since has come here and it's not just coaching, a little hunch that guy is special. You can count on it, how many wake up calls do they need this year?
Typical game where Pop throws everybody off his rhythm with his rotations and the Spurs players do not know/care for what the opponents players are able to do. This s up the defense ... and when the opponents is outworking you, well, you eventually gonna lose.
They played the worst team in the east maybe the whole league.. We should have won by 10 no matter what he did..
Maybe someone should remind Pop that beards are not allowed in the military and each time he wore it something wrong happened. Shave it darn it!![]()
You know the date, time, and place of your death don't you?
This loss was on the players, not Pop. Pop is far from perfect and is often way too stubborn for my liking, but last night was about players not coming to play. They played like NY was supposed to lay down and lose. I'm pretty confident we won't see a repeat performance tonight or for the rest of the year. It's a shame because the guys know better than to think mailing it in will produce a win.
Pop went with his planned rotations and stubbornly held out hope that the team could pull itself out of its lethargy. Didn't happen. They all looked like they slept on the plane.
That shows u how bad they are at times this year tbh.
Oh no you can bet they will fall asleep and play like that again atleast a few more times. They are what they are this year and until proven otherwise im just going to sit back and watch.
Apparently, this is the frontpage headline on ESPN now.

Knicks had Alexey Shved and we had Matrix. Simple as that.
First Take is about to talk about the gameThanks KL
Jesus ing Christ.![]()
The look on Kiwi is priceless, "let me leave before this guy bends me over again" ESPN is so wrong for that but it is a slow sports night, March madness hasn't started and the Spurs screwing up is so much fresher than the Spurs win.....Again(insert sigh here)
What a hypocrite. As Harlem said, his rotation, particularly early third/late fourth (lest we forget the random and inexplicable Williams sighting less than five minutes into the game), was laughable and suggested that he viewed this game as a glorified practice, so it's no surprise that the team followed suit.
Why he acted like he had to choose between Mills and Joseph, instead of playing them together against a minor league roster that lacked the size, strength and firepower to punish them playing undersized with their perimeter backups, is beyond me.
Someone should've asked him why he felt the need to trot out Belli-Rique when the team needed a defensive stop to win the game in regulation. Should've done offense/defense subs utions during timeouts.
Kl got pwned on the glass
