You would think regression to the mean will eventually help the Spurs when they have close games in the playoffs. It can't get much worse, right?

From you TOO POP, your stupid rotations so own up to that as well. Overall pathetic and he was involved.

POP never owns up to man, love him as a coach but he never owns up to his mistakes and realizes his stupid rotations cost us some games.
Name me a coach that does, also he said we, does the term we not include ones self?

The look on Kiwi is priceless, "let me leave before this guy bends me over again"
Except "that guy" was actually the one bending Enrique over to the tune of 22 and 4.

Shved was too much for Kawhi. Rotations were suspect, too. They'll be fine.

Pop usually blames the team bit yes this time he said we as a group... I was wrong there on this one. His rotations were pretty bad though, damn....

Last year I saw a team that was basically coasting and in some ways I see the same this season. They knew what the end game was then as I suspect they do this season, too. Popovich/Duncan-era Spurs have always been about the bigger picture and embarrassing/heartbreaking losses have never seemed to derail them. I actually see them repeating. There's something that happens to the core once the playoffs begin and suddenly they're playing on another level. So to answer your question: barring significant injuries, and considering the recent playoffs trend in years past, I see no reason why they can't be the machine we've seen in recent years come playoff time and a deep (Finals) playoffs run should be expected.

Last years team won 19 games in a row, started out fast with a great record and won 62 games, they dropped one or two here or there to a bad team but they were the #1 seed. I don't see the comparison to last year being they might only win 50 games this year and they are the #7 seed. They had HC throughout, they will have to go on the road every series this year if they stay at #7 and that has only been done one time in the history of the game with the Rockets, NEVER before or after so it is that rare.

I don't know about them repeating but I hope they do go and repeat, that would be nice. I hope you are right on the core and gelling but who knows, one year it's bound not to happen and things change.

I put up why I don't see a deep run or a finals run, being only one road team has won a finals in the history of the game and Hakeem was in GOD mode that year in 95 and they got healthy and gelled at the right time. We don't have Hakeem in his prime (Nor Tim in his prime) so it would take the perfect ball movement we saw late last year in the playoffs and a little bit of luck to go all the way or even make the WCF first, so many variables and things would have to go their way.
