More doubt got doused onto whatever hopes remain that Kevin Durant will return to the court this season, and if the Thunder star actually does come back you can’t help but to now wonder whether he will again be himself in time for it to matter.
Durant sat out practice Thursday while dealing with another bout of soreness in his surgically-repaired right foot. He already has been ruled out for Friday’s game against Atlanta.
(Story continued below...)
Thunder coach Scott Brooks repeatedly referred to what Durant is experiencing as “peaks and valleys” in his recovery. But by the sound of it, the operative word seemed to be “setback.”
Sunday will mark four weeks since Durant underwent a second surgery that was scheduled specifically to eliminate soreness in his foot. And now soreness has re-emerged. And with the calendar inside of a week of his announced timeframe to return to the lineup, there is no telling when Durant will be back.
Brooks announced last Wednesday that Durant would return to the lineup “in a week or two.” But after delivering Thursday’s news, Brooks couldn’t say whether Durant now needs a new timeline.
“I don’t know that yet,” Brooks said. “But with all of our players’ injuries we’ll always take the best interest of the players and always have a cautious approach
I still have soreness in my tbh must be the screws.
ing morons should have sat him out for the season from the beginning. For the good of the game I hope this doesn't become another Grant Hill situation where the Pistons left his career in shambles because they knew he was going to leave like Durant.
Sucks, round 1 is essentially a bye now for Golden State, tbh..
Hopefully the Spurs get their together, or else GS has a free ride to the Finals IMO..
To think this team had Prime Durant, Prime Westbrook, Prime Harden, Prime Ibaka, that Somalian who looks like he could use a meal or two, and this is the furthest they ever get:

You wouldn't be happy for them ringing right after firing Black Coach Jeebo while taking LeBron down to 2-4 in the Finals?
To be fair they ran into a prime LeBron, Wade and Bosh. After they lost one game at home everybody knew they were ed
Nah, I'd cheer for anybody vs. the Warriors, tbh, even OKC and the Clippers..
sure Scotty...sure
Fucc Grape Street Watts son
I could see Golden State getting to the Finals and then laying a fat egg against Cleveland, tbh..
Who would have thought rushing back from a Jones Fracture on his size 25 foot would be a bad idea?
Dumb asses
I'd rather watch a healthy Pelicans against them tbh. Although Westbrook vs GSW would be entertaining to watch![]()
I'd still prefer OKC to make it. They have a better roster than the Pels and it's gonna be fun watching RWB trying to take on the whole GSW team on his own. Who isn't going to pay money to see that???
GM's for New Orleans and GSW want a lottery pick. Both teams would rather have that than a 1 and done. As for GS, they aren't winning a le this year. Too green, too much perimeter shooting and no post game to speak of.
Lol, Houston is heading for a 1 and done too. The Bearded Flop is going to run out of gas w/ no one to back him up.
Looks like the old sport is out for the remainder of the playoffs
I suppose you are assuming Durant and Ibaka are on that "better" roster. I wouldn't count on it. No Durant, No Ibaka, No Perkins, No Fisher, No Reggie Jackson...Let that sink in for a second. Okc's ship has sailed yet some people think they are contenders or "dangerous". C'mon now, OKC is officially a one man show. Lol, Westbrook - Adams - Kanter - DJ Augustin - Dion Waiters and whoever the else.
If Okc made it, GS would be thrilled. Pelicans - if Davis isn't injured (Big if), will probably give the W's a better fight at this point. Similar results though. Probably 4-1 Warriors no matter who they face.
Pelicans are just as banged up as OKC. They haven't been healthy in months.
Why does OKC even bother? That team is done. Blow it up already. Once they told Harden to off, it was over.
