That's crazy, that kick didn't look like anything out of the ordinary.
Damn..Rey waits a year for his release from WWE, gets it, and promptly goes down to Mexico and kills a man.
I'm surprised we haven't seen more of this than we have. It's actually pretty rare considering how many times these guys rassle.
Ted "The Million Dollar Man" DiBiase (a former West Texas State footballer, WTS having at least a dozen footballers in pro rasslin') father died from in ring injuries.
Manny "The Ragin' Bull" Fernandez killed a guy in the ring, he came off the top turnbuckle landing right on his chest, you could see something was wrong, and then he climbed up and did it again, whoa! It was on youtube, I don't wanna see it again.
I can't think of any famous rassler who was killed in the ring or because of injuries. Which is suprising.
There is a video (or was) of New Jack (a small time thug) stabbing a guy with a knife (talking the real deal) in a small independant match, what the ???
Owen Hart RIP fell at a live event unfortunately. Bruiser Brody got stabbed to death in a lockerroom overseas. Those are off the top of my head. I recollect Dibiase's dad actually dying in ring during a match but I could be wrong.
We can't consider Owen Hart and Brody's (another WTS footballer) situation the same as this.
I'm pretty sure "Iron" Mike DiBiase died a little later on but not positive, so....

I remember that crazy ass ECW New Jack stabbing somebody in the ring IIRC, and falling off from like 40 feet in the air and getting brain damage, too, while the fans are all cheering

Mitsuhara Misawa is one of the top 5 Japanese wrestlers of all time. He died in ring after taking a routine back suplex. His head and neck just quit on him. Granted his promotion wrestled in "strong style" but still.. Here is the aftermath, the family asked that the original video be edited to remove the accident itself.
The "Mass Transit" incident was part of the show, that kid agreed to all of that. The part that made it so "notorious" for New Jack is the amount of blood the kid lost, and the fact that he lied and was actually only 17 years old. Everything else was typical New Jack.

Great match.. The indecisiveness by Vic Grimes on the spot led to New Jack going blind in one eye after slamming his head (with all of Grimes 300 lbs on it) on the concrete from 20 feet up. New Jack says he went to the hospital to see Grimes and punched him straight in the face for that.. he also says he purposely threw Grimes farther than he should have during a later scheduled scaffold match in XPW to make him miss these tables.. he nearly succeeded.

Rey Mysterio is the equivalent of a tired old bag, tbh..in his younger days he had more flare which led to carrying entertaining matches..now, just like his fellow Mexican Sin Cara, the foreign cruiserweight division is all but extinct in mainstream wrestling..I don't even watch nowadays..the only that I keep up with is anything Lesnar or Heyman related..everything else is a big joke, imo..
