I thought he was in his late 30's..man we been getting up in age..remember seeing this little fool go head first into a trailer during the NWO angle
..
The guy is god damn near 45.. Can't believe that stocky little can still do the 619
I thought he was in his late 30's..man we been getting up in age..remember seeing this little fool go head first into a trailer during the NWO angle
..
Yeah, maybe followed by Liger or Great Muta/Mutoh
yeah.. he pops out of the trailer and Nash caught him and ed his ass.. I was in 8th grade when the nWo kicked off.
The nWo invasion was the only angle that ever had me question if the was real..smh I actually thought WWF sent their guys to WCW to take over for a second there
As we all know the rasslin' biz takes a lot of....hahahaha that phoney ass .....but we also know if ya know the sport (and it is) the politics involved, why this guy gets a push and that one doesn't. Why is he a heel, why is someone else a babyface, it's all pretty interesting.
I go back to the days of Gorgeous George so it's in my blood, ha!
McMahan did things up, because before he started closing everyone down we had a half a dozen big time promotions going on. We had options.
Who remembers Jerry "The King" Lawler ruling the CWA out of Memphis?
One of the earliest memories I have is watching Hall's "You want a war?"..I was six years old and remember watching this ..the match I remember most of that Nitro was Giant and Shark which took place later on that evening..as a kid that match was ing awesome even though the gimmick and nature of the match was corny as..
Makes you wonder why Cena never turned Heel, tbh..that got wanted to turn heel years ago and Vince never gave him the ok. It would be best for business if that happened, the age group from the at ude era would tune in for this out of it being something fresh to the company..
Yeah, I think that "you want a war" segment was where Nash debuted.. I used to have on of the illegal cable boxes and would catch all the PPV's.. Hogan ing over WCW followed by the Giant joining at Hog Wild were some of the better moments of the WCW being more entertaining era..
Nah bro that was two weeks later irrc..the next week Hall appeared again several times during the telecast..he warned Bischoff about a surprise for the next week..the following week came and Big Sexy appeared..I remember marking the out..
The Giant joined on a Nitro, too, irrc..I remember that was the night that they destroyed the set to finish off the telecast..
We first see Cena in the OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) as Prototype and he was a heel. he was fueding with Randy Orton a babyface. Also there was Leviathan (Batista) and Brock Lesnar. That's where Vince found them, so Cena came over as a heel.
But, I 'm with you 100%, Cena made a great heel, he sucks as a babyface.
I never watched expecting real fighting so I don't give a about whether it's fake..the Monday Night Wars era was on a different level than it's ever been, and was at least written for adults. WWE will probably never have that many good characters at one time again. Plus, ECW was at their peak, and their PPV's starting with Barely Legal were the .
Don't get me wrong, dawg..super Cena overcoming the odds was trendy for all of like three ppvs in 2005..the WWE over did that persona..maybe it was because of a lack of talent or just the fact that Vince didn't fully trust another wrestler to carry the ultimate face card that was present years before with Steve Austin and the Rock..
Ater watching the video the died when he landed on the rope..the kind of kick that Mysterio landed shouldn't have killed him..
Yeah, you're right..
Can you imagine today's crowd pelting a ring with trash tbh?WCW's crowd would trash the ring nearly every show
Whatever impact caused it, autopsy confirms cervical spine trauma leading to cardiac arrest..

Who watchs a movie constantly.....that ain't real?...well the rasslin' is no different. I prefer it not real, because if it were it would be boring as .
The best of times for us fans was that Monday night war's era, so much talent, so much going on. So many firsts. Loved it!!!!!!!
I never warmed up to ECW for some reason, did get a kick out of Sabu, that er was 100% re ed.
There's pre-Nitro and Thunder show videos on YouTube, tbh..check them out..at every event, the announcer who began the show would stress not throwing objects to the ring..it would still happen
..a part of that is because of the not give a trailer trash that would attend these shows..much of it though is due to Hogan's turn at Bash at the Beach..after that fans were legitimately pissed off..Hogan's heel promo is legendary..he meant what he said in that promo..WCW fans booed Hogan for almost all of 96 during Nitros and PPV's..check out the Nitro's of late 95-96 leading to BATB..
I will say this...thank God for the DVR...I really couldn't watch all those ommercials and all the total bull , we get maybe 45 minutes of stuff thats cool.
And I do think we could do a better job of writing than what they have now.
Maybe the only time I can ever agree with you 100%. The show is 3 hours..the only time I will tune in..and that's cause I'm normally working out when Raw is on, is when Heyman or Lesnar are on, I'll know what's going on bc of twitter..what's happening to the IC le at and post Wrestlemania will get some attention, but it's a little to late for that..reading the reviews of Raw online I'm glad I didn't watch a single show from start to finish for this entire calendar year..it's ing cringeworthy ..even the Orton and Rollins angle is so predictable and pushed that it defeats the intrigue..and this is coming from somebody who generally likes Orton..
ECW was the from 96-99.. they had minimal storylines, but the ones they had were mature.. They had so many good wrestlers, and towards the end they all got raided by by WCW and WWF..
Barely Legal 97' featured RVD, Lance Storm, Taz, Raven, Shane Douglas, Perry Saturn, Sabu, Terry Funk, New Jack, Stevie Richards, The Dudleys, Tommy Dreamer.. they even brought in Taka Michinoku and Great Sasuke.. They had barely lost Malenko, Misterio, Psychosis, Guererro and Benoit to WCW, and Mick Foley to WWF.. they continued to create top stars even though, they made Mike Awesome, Rhyno, Tajiri, Super Crazy, Bam Bam Bigelow (again) as it winded down.
Do yourself a favor and catch Barely Legal online somewhere and get back to me. No way you can't enjoy that show.
Yeah, I've seen those.. they start recording well before they went live..I went to Nitro here in San Antonio and remember walking out to take a piss, and running into Raven's Flock in the tunnel.. I remember Saturn was much smaller than he seemed on TV, and he completely ignored me when I talked to him. er didn't even look at me and I was right in front of him
You know the funny thing is this crap WWE puts out there today cost roughly 800K each episode of Raw they put out![]()
Tbf how could you know if Saturn was looking at you?..
I remember going to a house show in Tulsa when I was nine..Sting appeared in his patented from the rafters entrance..
good question.. eyed mother er was probably looking me square in the eye
the days of dropping from the rafters being "safe".. ing Owen
