Dallas couldn't miss. Shot like 75% from the field in the 3rd. Monta goes off and ends with 48 points. Usual Spurs 3rd quarter meltdown.
Can someone give me a semi-detailed breakdown of what happened tbh?

If you missed everything after the 1st quarter consider yourself lucky.
Pop probably told him to be more "aggressive" which in Parker's mind was to hero ball the team out of a win.
Doctors have a word for it: metastasis.
I envy you for missing it.
Damn, I had a feeling Enrique was going to be in the thick of things. Bet he stood there crying to the refs after those turnovers instead of getting back on D.
Parker lost it for us. There was literally no one else on the court for the Spurs. I'm serious. They were literally playing just Tony Parker and the rest of the team was on the bench. It was a weird strategy (I didn't even know it was legal, but I saw it with my own eyes).
like you watched any of the game
But I'll play...
Ellis torched Kawhi for 13 points and 3 assists. Went by him at least 3 times straight to the rack, Kawhi kept going under screens and Ellis was popping repeatedly in his face. Pop finally put Danny on him the last two minutes and he didn't score anymore.
Parker turned the ball over 3 times and sucked major ass.
The entire team outside of Danny Green sucked donkey s.
Bro, don't blame Kawhi for the Monta points. That was all on Tony Parker. He was the only player on the court.
You missed a good play of him throwing up a poorly timed alleyoop pass and staring down Duncan and Leonard for not bailing him out.
Ellis made all his chucking shots, Mavs made a bunch of shots, Spurs missed a ton of open shots, Parker was horrendous and turned the ball over on every possession, Duncan was a huge liability..
Yup, pretty much. Just for good measure, he also did his patented, "I'm going to crash recklessly into the lane hoping to get a call but wind up drawing an offensive foul instead" move.
smh
Like I said I didn't watch the 3rd, but chances are if he kept going under screens it was Pop's call.
Not sure why you're acting like Danny shut him down though. Just my opinion but I think LDN is more slow footed than Kawhi...Ellis was blowing right past him in the 4th. Who knows though maybe he was blowing by Kawhi just as badly in the 3rd quarter.
To be fair, TD also threw a dumb pass off a rebound in the quarter. But yes, TP was mostly to blame for the quarter.
Ellis is a team cancer who has never won anything and creates an atmosphere of discontentment. I have heard all the crap going on with Monta Ellis, Chandler Parsons, and Rondo. Ellis just wanted to go hero/monkeyball and make a bunch of bad shots.
If the Spurs would have cherished possessions in the second quarter they would have won the game. Instead they played like s. A waste of a good chance to win a game.
The Mavericks did not impress me at all - the bumping and grinding being allowed resulted in turnovers and the Spurs played like crap.

smh
Pop knows we needed the win more than he did![]()
Ellis and Parsons are giant D-Bags and Rondo is a coach killer. Their toxic mix of divergent personalities will fail in the end.
The Spurs have to apply greater effort each and every night the rest of the way. This game was pissed away.
Yeah, Jim Carrey, I mean RC threw most of the Mavie team under the bus a couple of days ago, and it still took a disinterested Spurs performance and Monta giving the Mav organization the middle finger with his ballhog performance to get the win. The Mavies are a very flawed team TBH.
