When you work for someone else, depending on who, you won't make but about half that. If you do your own thing or they know they have to have you because no one else can do it, you can make that and then some. That never gets factored into the "entry/median/maximum" you see on websites. Contractors can make bank, but you have to stay employed else you bleed it as fast as you make it.
You stay where you can stay. I've stayed high priced and just . It depends on where I want to be in relation to the job site, and the notice I'm given.
