    Brief QB update from OrangeBloods...they've confirmed that the staff has been speaking with Connor Brewer multiple times recently. They're also saying the staff intends to wait on a transfer QB until the conclusion of spring practices, but such a move would indicate they want that guy to start and not be brought in for depth purposes only.

    It just means that the students are hearing about him so they started following him on Twitter. It doesn't mean much except that the players are intrigued about him and what he has to say on Twitter at this point.

    I agree completely. I was just speculating of course, but he wants a big time head coaching gig and this is about as big as it gets for someone who is pretty unproven (long-term at least) as a coach.

    LB Dontavious Jackson of Alief Elsik talks about his weekend trip to Austin (24/7):

    “I loved it,” Jackson said. “I loved the intensity at practice. Everyone was practicing with passion, and I even saw a couple of fights break out. That’s what I like to see, so it was definitely intense. All the coaches were really welcoming. I had a great time."

    Marshall will head to Alabama or stay in Wichita. Shaka Smart still the favorite as of this morning.

    It could be anything from money to Patterson and Marshall not vibing, but nothing specific was mentioned.

    FWIW, rumors suggest UT does not want to go above $3 mil for the new coach.

    Good. Guys making that kind of money should have like 3 or 4 Final Four appearances. I've heard Shaka Smart has turned down a ton of major offers too though from various schools.

    Also, I assume we paid all of Rick Barnes' buyout, but they kept saying it was "mutual" as if that meant something in legal terms... does that mean we didn't have to pay the full buyout? Anyone know?
