Probably on Twitter they are following his feed
What does this mean? Following Mark Jackson?
Probably on Twitter they are following his feed
And why is this important to the UT coaching job, I don't get it?
Because Mark Jackson might be trying to get the job?
Brief QB update from OrangeBloods...they've confirmed that the staff has been speaking with Connor Brewer multiple times recently. They're also saying the staff intends to wait on a transfer QB until the conclusion of spring practices, but such a move would indicate they want that guy to start and not be brought in for depth purposes only.
So he attempts to get his foot in the door by lobbying the kids?
Which basically illustrates why he has no business coaching at UT.
I thought this is what you guys meant, but I can't believe a sane person would actually attempt such a inappropriate move.
Or his name has been floated by UT and he is fluffing about it? Both are ludicrous imo.
It doesn't necessarily mean anything.
But when several Texas basketball players follow a former NBA coach on Twitter, it will be discussed.
It just means that the students are hearing about him so they started following him on Twitter. It doesn't mean much except that the players are intrigued about him and what he has to say on Twitter at this point.
Because he is just analyzing the UT situation rather than lobbying for it I hope.
I would rather retain Barnes than have anything to do with Mark Jackson.
I've never seen someone as thirsty for any coaching job as Mark Jackass.
I agree completely. I was just speculating of course, but he wants a big time head coaching gig and this is about as big as it gets for someone who is pretty unproven (long-term at least) as a coach.

From the coach UT was after...
I would have had to wish Saban dead had he actually had any interest.
This guy is a lunatic. I may hate Alabama more than any other college team now.
LB Dontavious Jackson of Alief Elsik talks about his weekend trip to Austin (24/7):
“I loved it,” Jackson said. “I loved the intensity at practice. Everyone was practicing with passion, and I even saw a couple of fights break out. That’s what I like to see, so it was definitely intense. All the coaches were really welcoming. I had a great time."
“I want to see that same intensity at other schools when I visit. Texas has a great environment. From the coaches to the leaders on the team, they all showed a lot of passion and were focused on getting better. Even the music was great.”
“That’s what I want,” Jackson said. “I need an intense coach. Wherever I go, I need a coach to help me succeed. I don’t need a friend. I want a coach that can help me reach my goals and prepare me for the next level.”
24/7 reporting 2017 RB Toneil Carter of Houston Langham Creek could be receiving an offer from UT soon.
He's arguably the top prospect in the state of Texas for the next cycle.

Wow, that's landing on your feet very quickly.
OrangeBloods reporting Texas is out of it for Gregg Marshall at this point.
Marshall will head to Alabama or stay in Wichita. Shaka Smart still the favorite as of this morning.
Is it a money issue? Who would pick Alabama over Texas for basketball?
The report made it sound like the two parties basically bumped heads over negotiations.
It could be anything from money to Patterson and Marshall not vibing, but nothing specific was mentioned.
FWIW, rumors suggest UT does not want to go above $3 mil for the new coach.
Good. Guys making that kind of money should have like 3 or 4 Final Four appearances. I've heard Shaka Smart has turned down a ton of major offers too though from various schools.
Also, I assume we paid all of Rick Barnes' buyout, but they kept saying it was "mutual" as if that meant something in legal terms... does that mean we didn't have to pay the full buyout? Anyone know?

5-star DB Eric Monroe of North Shore will be making his commitment at The Opening in July, per 24/7.
