Ive heard them called both. They are freshwater drum and are nasty.

Im really a sal er guy. But I will take any fishing. The Llano, when it gets flowing again, I love that river. Turned up rocks in the early spring and used helgumites ((dragonfly larvae) for bait. Caught more species than I have ever caught out of 1 river.

I almost killed myself fishing too late on that river. Got back to the launch point after 3 hrs in almost pure blackness of nite. All I could see was the white of the Rapids. Got really lucky, missed a number of really big trees and got hung up and taken down once. You get stuck up against a log with hundreds of gallons of water pouring over you, not fun.especially when you can't see a damn thing.
those grammites are ing nasty, not even worth it to me. they'll bite the out of you too i've heard. but they work great for smallmouth. i live too far from the coast to do any serious ocean fishing but i wouldn't mind it someday.

gotta respect the water homie, what were you doing wading? not a good idea in the dark. not a good idea alone period. buddy system works a lot better when you're out someplace away from civilization. never know when you could get bit by something, take a fall, etc. and don't even let your waders fill up with water lol. you'll crawl on your hands and knees on the bottom of the river/lake etc all the way to shore.

I just get out when I need bait, if lures are not working.

    Night:
I was paddling back at that point and could not see a thing. I got rammed up against a tree. I got too interested in the fishing. I go out at night on the coast as well. I use google Earth, take my Pick Up and explore. I've had more than you can imagine happen. Alligators, snakes, Sharks, you name it.

Ive even figured out a way to effectively gig flounder with my kayak. 12v battery, homemade light setup PVC with an aircraftb landing light.

The two most dangerous things at the coast are getting cut up on oysters and rays. In that order.

Waders? I only take waders in the winter... I just stopped using them at the coast. Water is well above 70 in the marshes now. In the open bay I might still use waders if the wind is blowing. And I do go with friends. But my work hours are variable so I hunt for spots for the poor 8-5 guys. We are probably a little lax with the safety I must admit.

And I posited The Congo... perhaps?

The Congo has been since the dawn of time. The Middle East used to be the seat of civilization. Maybe once Islam is outdated they'll go back to being the people they once were. Some of the brightest people I've met are Iranian, but they call themselves Persian because they don't consider themselves to be affiliated with the ayatollah.

Africa was on its own, somewhat stable, until the Europeans moved in to rip off its natural resources, African never recovered.

Now it's the planet's BigCrop continuing the exploitation.

How Gates the Foundation and Western Countries Are Plotting to Take Control of Africa's Agriculture

A battle is currently being waged over Africa's seed systems. After decades of neglect and weak investment in African agriculture, there is renewed interest in funding African agriculture.

These new investments take the form of philanthropic and international development aid as well as private investment funds. They are based on the potentially huge profitability of African agriculture - and seed systems are a key target.

Right now ministers are co-ordinating their next steps at the 34th COMESA(Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) Intergovernmental Committee meeting that kicked off yesterday, 22nd March, in preparation for the main Summit that will follow on 30th and 31st March 2015.

COMESA's key aim is to pave the way for a "Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) in 2017 under the au es of the African Union" with uniform regulations, including on agricultural products, seeds and GMOs.

A recent meeting on biotechnology and biosafety was held to establish a "COMESA biotechnology and biosafety policy implementation plan" (COMBIP) to roll out from 2015-2019, "leading to increased biotechnology applications and agricultural commodity trade in the region."

But read between the lines and its real purpose was to facilitate the planting and commercialization of GMO crops in Africa all at one go, instead of country by country. USAID Regional representatives for East Africa, based in Nairobi, were present to monitor the process and ensure the desired outcome.

And on the agenda for the main COMESA Summit next week is the approval of a 'Master Plan' for the implementation of the COMESA Harmonised Seed Trade Regulations agreed last year in Kinshasa.

The regulations, according to the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa, "will greatly facilitate agricultural transformation in the COMESA member states towards industrialization of farming systems based on the logic of the highly controversial, failed and hopelessly doomed Green Revolution model of agriculture."

yeah Islam invaded. you can also say the Carthaginians made it all the way down the west coast and ports along the Swahili coast traded around the Indian Ocean in antiquity.

I'm talking sub sahara africa by the way. permanent hole with the exception of merchants on the East coast and Islamic empires.

sub-Saharan Africa is there Euros extracted the wealth. Apart from oil and gas, and that's just in modern times, north Africa has very little to offer. South of Sahara was the European colonizers' target, lumber (Europe mostly denuded), gemstones, minerals, etc, then oil and gas (Nigeria).

except the egyptians and carthaginians and ptolemaic dynasties. wondrous empires.

don't kid yourself. Islam divided all of Africa and the rest sold themselves into slavery. Not everything is because of the big bad white man. You give Europeans too much credit. It was just too easy of a situation for them to take advantage of.

And this is exactly why I asked or made a stab.
Boutons wants the world to be easy... White man, big empires/business, things die.
Its the same recipe in his head. Just like a religious fanatic, it has to be a certain way or his worldview crashes.

Congo and the plains of south africa never really got invaded by Europeans too bad until the 19th century. The French and Germans moved into the area after the fact. Cape of Good Hope and the West African coasts sure but it wasn't until the Brits started pushing inland from Capestown and Guinea in the 19th century that those tribes really were invaded. How that turned out was famous.

Congo hasn't been overly populated since the beginning of time. The Congo is the thickest jungle in the world at the basin and it floods. Most of the people are hunter gatherer types even today. East out at Lake Victoria and up the Nile is where most of the fighting in the region takes place. Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania. Warlords from those regions as well as the Islamists from West Africa are hiding in the hills and jungles of the region.

The African Union and the French have been heavily involved in the area. NATO troops have gone to the region. Just because we aren't personally doing the handholding doesn't mean that they are forgotten. Frankly, they are French and British post colonial states for the most part; they should be point and not us.

They can determine what haplogroup you belong to by genotype and then you apply a skin color to various haplogroups and wave your hands. I've heard your spiel about being northern european before. We've had this conversation before remember.

You can post your study again and I will read said study and show you where the geneity that is so prevalent in white Americans breaks down when looking at the minority genotypes. Last time you abandoned ship when I was laughing at you about inbreeding. We can do it again if you'd like: show us your study.
    >jews infiltrate study of race; convince americans within a hundred years there is no such thing as race in a biological viewpoint; black and whites are 100% equal biologically
    >jews tell us the jewish race deserves their own country
