Kanter was brought in for scoring punch off the bench. He can practically give them a double-double on a nightly basis and all it cost them was a seldom used, foul prone Kendrick Perkins. I'd say it was an absolute steal considering Perk barely saw the floor in OKC and now he's ting the bed in Cleveland. The only thing he's really good at is hard fouls and arguing with the refs over a hard foul call. Now, if you consider that "toughness" then I agree, he's tougher than Kanter.
Kanter is a loser, and he doesn't fill any needs for them. Perkins was useless against 98% of the league, but he grinded Tim and Tiago down, which is actually one of the very few matchups they needed to have.

What they needed is a solid perimeter defender/role player. Instead they traded for Waiters. Just horrible moves all around.

Classic Westbrook game: 10-32, 6 TO, 2 really low IQ shots at the end of the game.

    Kanter is a loser
    Based on what?

Not denying he has his flaws (particularly on defense), just wondering why you seem so dead-set against him

He's just a guy that's happy to be along for the ride, not a difference maker. His comments about never being happy in Utah, spoken after he left, speaks volumes about his at ude: cash the checks and mail it in, instead of doing something about it. Not to mention that it also points to him thinking he's better than he really is. Right now, he's basically a slightly better Aaron Baynes, a decent 3rd, 4th big on any team with aspirations. He's oblivious to winning or losing, lacks the proverbial compe ive fire.

He's young, time or the right environment could change him, so we'll see. Right now, he's on the wrong path, IMO.

Agree but not so sure that he still better than Baynes...IMO

His completely lack of defensive effort made him a cancer for OKC.. Jazz figured it out and since Gobert took his minutes, jazz is the best defensive team since the all star break! Just imagine Baynes in OKC instead of Kanter and the liability is not so obvious I think

I think it's pretty widely agreed that Perkins shouldn't be in the NBA, and probably never should have been.

The main three jobs of the front office are the draft, free agency, and trades. Presti is very good at drafting but has been disastrous on the trade front. Their free agency signings have been meh because they're always capped out.

    Westbrook 10-32

The rest of the Thunder 35-61. XD XD XD
Yeah moron bc obviously Westbrook isnt responsible for 15-20 of those FGs night in and night out. You should call the Clips and tell them they should build their offense around Jordan since he shoots like 70% from the field!!!

Dang people get emotional when Westbrook loses. Never imagined he'd become a beloved spurs player. Imagine that....rooting for a point guard led team fighting for the last spot in the playoffs and blowing it.

And defense! We haven't even started to talk about defense!

I would absolutely advocate for Deandre getting the ball more if they routinely had a player on their team who took over 25-30 shots in a game and ended up at under 33% shooting. Except Chris Paul is shooting 48.5% from the field this season.

The price tag for Kanter was much more than the expiring contract attached to Perkins' corpse. They also sent a future first round pick and had to absorb a year of Novak at 3.75M for 2015-16. All this for a player that will be a free agent this summer and may cost more than 10M per year to keep.

Caling a moron a moron makes me mad? Ok.

Role players play off of playmakers moron. Thats basketball 101. Making assisted shots and making shots when you are the playmaker the defense is focused on are two completely different things. Westbrook's closing has been comical at times, not just this past game, but that has nothing to do with you going full re by comparing his FG% to his teammates FG%.

    2-11 from 3

    But he plays so hard

It's ok dude, OKC will have another chance next season, you can still buy a Westbrook jersey and make it to a few games next year. Durant probably won't leave yet, so your le chances aren't completely shot.

I don't need to formulate new arguments with Chuckbrook makes them for me. He lost his team the game last night with his desire to be Kobe.

You certainly root for Westbrook harder than anyone on the Spurs.

Are you seriously comparing a 38 year old coming off a major injury to a 26 year old?

You might actually be the worst poster on Spurstalk, and that's saying a lot with mouse around.

Hahah, that's a great counter argument. "I go to games so I'm a real fan." Lakers fans use that all the time while they're simultaneously throwing Gasol, Howard, Lin, and whomever is coaching them under the bus to prop up Kobe's legacy.

Actually, you compared them moron. I'm simply showing you that they're nothing alike bc 95% of Kobe's focus was always on just scoring.
