Tony is what he is, he's been playing really well in his role lately, making good decisions IMO, no need to hate on him right now, tbh..

Hopefully his strong play translates well to this year's playoffs, it'll be tough as a 32-year old PG with his mileage..let's pray that he has 1 more good run in his legs..

ty article. He's not playing young, he's just using the system more which is smart. Most of his points are coming when multiple off-ball screens put him in an advantageous position.

Defensively, he's just bad. There's nothing to compliment about it.

Funny thing was if pop benches manu at any point in that series, we win. Pop's stubbornness lost us a series. Pop's stubbornness might show up in the playoffs when he sticks to the old guns even if they are playing garbage.
The fans are correct in their assessments many times. We don't all need to be sheep got.
Not nearly as many times as you think. The way most fans talk, you'd think they should be the coach on the sidelines...like Why pay guys like Pop, Phil or Riley, when you can just take this one posters tactical adjustment and win the whole series?

The real difference is those coaches aren't praised for their hinesight.. They make whatever decisions they feel are best for their team ... And they stand by it.

I was furious with the Spurs when they gave Manu $7M after 6. I mean, he was a net negative for the Spurs in that series. But, when he came back and played a key role in their run to the championship I was happy to eat crow.

Parker is playing legit basketball and that's a good thing for the Spurs' chances at a repeat. Let go of your pride and irrational hatred. And just enjoy being a Spurs fan.

    Or STFU and GTFO.

    You lion b.

parker has been the most loyal Spur in franchise history. Never tested free agency so the Knicks talk is just talk.

Without the outburst the Spurs stay gettin embarrassed with 8 and sweep for the coming years.

Second greatest spur in franchise history.
I've got him 3rd or 4th behind DRob and possibly Gervin. I think he finishes ahead of Gervin though.

I noticed a couple of times this year (probably when his leg was bothering him) that he was copying Steve Nash's style of walking around down in the paint, dribbling past and around picks and bigs until something revealed a pass or scoring opportunity. I used to marvel watching Nash do that , wondering how he got away with it. Speed is a great advantage, but Nash showed it wasn't the only way to play PG in the NBA
So often this gets the defense all out of position and leads to either an assist for an easy bucket to a big, an open 3, or starts a swing.

I love my team more than anything else..If a player is detrimental, I am going to say it. I am a team fan..

compared to most Big 3 mainstream player fans here..These guys would give away a season or two for nostalgic reasons.
Except that team isn't the Spurs, clearly.

Malik has sold his narrative of kneejerk emo hate for so long that he's trying to pull the reins back in (in a somewhat subtle manner, of course, can't have people catching on!) and it's too late, his little troopers have gone and done tipped over the turnip truck. They needed someone to cling to and follow so desperately that they haven't noticed their glorious leader stopped running about 3 towns back and they're off on their own, being laughed at by the entirety of Spurstalk (save CN, who's just a bizarre human being if he isn't someone's alt, which is likely).

Like in 2008 when McCain was trying to take on Obama, and they talked so much about him that they got an 80 year old bitty on national ing TV and she said, "He's an arab" into the mic. Forcing McCain to destroy the narrative so he wouldn't be lambasted as a racist.

Malik is losing the plot in his own posse.

Yeah, the fact that the krew was throwing dirt on Parker after his injury didn't watch enough games to know that he was playing just fine before it. All of them overplayed their hand when they adopted their trolling shtick, but MH actually cares about his e-rep so he's been walking back ever since Parker recovered.

If you go by his word, he should still be on his leave of absence .

Hence the reference to kneejerk emo hate.

You see that a lot on Lakersground. It's basically their calling card.

The best part is they had to actively hope Parker would play badly and the Spurs lose to sustain their shtick and reps.

One of the more notable mass failures in ST history.

Yeah, I'm sure the Cavs defense was as intimidating as the Spurs that year. How'd he do vs Det in '05? Funny how he doesn't have any notable playoff performances against elite defenses. It's his performances against teams like the Cavs/Suns that the fanboys like you bring up to show his 'greatness'.
