Bored? what you mean? they are prone to miss the playoffs, they suck and thats it.
Tonight hurt their chances but the 3 seed can still be had. Memphis is falling apart, Portland is trying to get it together and well, Houston is Houston.

It's tough to believe that they can turn it on, tbh..
Kawhi has improved a little, Green is the same or better, Duncan and Ginobili will give you what they can, but everybody else has declined, some key players to a significant extent(Patty, Diaw), and that includes Pop's coaching..
There are too many negative impact players on the team right now, unfortunately..technically, it's the same team as last year, but I'm starting to believe the theories of "being content" after #5..
FIFY. Their overall body of work indicates that they aren't very good......at least not good enough to sleepwalk through 3.5 quarters then hit the gas a la Michaels Bulls, et al......etc tbh.
I'm not sure bored is the right term, but I do think this was just a bad game and not something indicative of more. Hypothetically, if Kyrie doesn't go berserk we would have had an 8 game winning streak going and we would have been playing our best all season save for that early run we had in the first 15 games. There's no reason to think we are playing poorly as a team right now, we just had one bad game. Sure, there aren't any moral wins or anything, but we played really well against cleveland. It's a 2 game losing streak, but realistically we only played poorly tonight. We just need to bounce back tomorrow and keep on rolling, the key is to not get down on tonight or on Cleveland IMO and to sustain what was going on before this loss
Don't get me wrong though. I do think that they're hiding another gear somewhere. I just hope they remember the location in time for the playoffs
Half of regulation, either Ayres, Bonner or Reggie were on the floor. Pop was trying to play minute preservation tonight (see Marco's minutes instead of Green, who's played a lot this year) and it bit him in the ass.
Can't believe I've been to two Knicks games this year and they beat both western conference finalists.
No teams other then 99 Knicks and Champ Rockets have won 4 straight road playoffs.
So unless the Spurs are going to set a playoff record, they better get up to 4th.
Huge f'ups vs Cleveland and Knicks.
"What me worry?" Pop schtick never has worked.
Keeping a schmoe like Bonner on the roster in games like tonight is loser.
NoNo have Rumpy put plenty of cinnamin on again.
This is certainly a "team" in the full sense of the word. There's no longer a miracle worker here, everybody needs to chip in. That said, guys like Tiago or Tony look completely different from start of the year to now. I can't think it was injuries alone, I think there's some coasting in there too, tbh
I don't particularly focus on individual regular season games. This thread is more about whether this team is dangerously coasting too much at times, it's just inconsistent or they literally don't have it.
I'm on the first option right now, but I'll hear opinions on the other ones.
Ok well, they've never been this low a seed and led. Nor every other NBA team sans the Hakeemets.
So while i don't like to lock into numbers too much either, reality is they are going to have to have an enema real soon and/or set or tie the all time record by the Rockets. 4 road series just does not look good for how sluggish they are playing.
What's the acceptable seed? I think #5 is attainable.
I'm kinda like you, i was hoping they were in coast mode and was thrilled with the streak and then beating Cleveland for 47 and a half minutes.
The Give Back II did not have me seeing a silver lining and now the suck factor carried into the Knicks game.
Why Popped has let Colonel Sanders and Fisher own him is beyond me but, they did. And apparantly still do.
#5 would still require 4 road series wins. Yet at this point rising to 5 would seem an accomplishment.
2 games vs Dallas, 2 vs Houston so it's doable. Right no now way it seems like they will sweep.
I kinda expected a letdown after that run. It sucks, but good teams go on a high to kinda test themselves, so when you get up there, you realize it's still the regular season, there's nothing to prove, so back to coasting you go.
Memphis is another good team that has been doing that a lot this season. Hopefully losses like this are a good reminder that you can't take anything for granted.
I don't know about "being content", so much as it is attrition. Before this run began, in '12, Duncan and Ginobili were verging on ancient, Parker was verging on old and Diaw and Bonner weren't far behind.
Then you think of all the mileage since then, both playoffs and regular season, because this is a team that not only generally played hard during the latter, but ran the most exhausting offense in the league. Eventually, it was going to catch up to them.
The number one sign of a perennial contender not having it anymore, is an inability to sustain; something we've repeatedly seen throughout this season. From them constantly, quickly blowing significant leads, to their inability to start second halves strong, to their inability to win close/overtime games.
yo team clown!
Pops resting players, coasting, and the whole regular season doesn't matter all season long has developed some bad habits and habits are very hard to break. I wish I could tell my boss when im having a not so productive day that I was just coasting untill crunch time.![]()
Pop sticking his foot in deep tbh
Winning is boring
