    So... Lakers owe Philly a top five protected pick next draft

    If Magic continues to lose, Lakers could end up with the fifth worse record in the league and if one team jump overs during lottery, Laker would lose their pick...

    That's a lot of ifs but the potential amount of worth the track imo

    Orlando is 24-54 and Lakers 20-57

    If we lose this pick...like I said I'm done with the Lakers for good....if they cant even ing lose properly then they're useless to me period....Byron Scott needs to be fired..even with a good roster I just dont see anything in the guy that inspires confidence...he's just there because he's Kobe's boy...and mgmt gave in to pressure to hire him...he's just looking for a paycheck....

    It's a gross dereliction of duty if we dont sit players who are playing well...i just dont understand how they dont get it....Golden State openly tanked a few yrs ago and it netted them Harrison Barnes....teams know whats at stake except our dumbass front office and coach...I'm ing fuming right now at the ASSHOLES.....man my blood is boiling at this stupidity....

    I cant take it anymore...im on full meltdown mode

    And Trill was right about Jordan Clarkson...as a rookie he shouldnt be able to hold his own against these vet players and this kid is balling...should have been a top 14 pick tbh....if we werent such dumbasses we could parlay Clarkson, Randle, and a top 5 pick from this year into a force to be reckoned with....all on rookie scale contracts and still offer big money contracts to two key free agents...I swear man its sickening watching Jerrys kids run the Lakers into the ground...

    It would be funny to see Sacramento trolling Lakers. Minnesota also have no reason to win this game. Rest game are vs playoff teams so Lakers will be (un)lucky to win any. And there is also a lottery. If Lakers are 5th worst, and worse team jumps to pick 1st overall they are fav to be 6th

    What kind of incentive is their for players on a team to tank? Why should they care about draft positioning? Players play to showcase their skills and win games so they can get paid. Tanking would mean you suck as a player and give the organization (and others) a reason to draft a guy to take your spot.

    They didn't have much of a choice. Bryant chucked them out of contention early on chasing MJ's position (not record, that's the leader) in the scoring list. They weren't going to make the playoffs.

    It's notable that even ESPN says "Lakers win but jeopardize their lottery pick". Why anyone acts like the team isn't really tanking is beyond me, but that tweet Kobe sent to Lin tells me Kobe is trying to the Lakers into not having a team next year as well so he's still the man. You don't want some hotshot draft pick overshadowing your farewell tour.

    Not if they're an org that believes in sabermetrics. Spurs won't miss the playoffs for at least 5 years following Duncan's retirement.

    Mavs will go down the path of the Lakers tho. And it'll be for the same reason as LA: dumb FO, dumb media, bad drafting, ty chucking 2-guard on a max deal.
