Let's hope Jeff's tweet is on target. We look great now and have a monster week ahead.

Ideally I'd like for him to come back so we can continue making a push for HCA, but it's absolutely not worth the risk if it might result in him missing time in the playoffs. ty situation we're in right now.

Just gotta hope for the best. We're not going anywhere without a healthy Tiago.

"Tightness in calf" is what was bothering him earlier this year, wasn't it? And that kept him out for several weeks.

Usually yes, tightness doesn't sound as serious. But given his history with calf injuries, it's definitely worrisome.

Watched live, no one even noticed him leaving before halftime. Tiago is probably our best big in some situations...worrisome

If Spurs officials aren't worried then it's no big deal.

He may have felt something and since they were already up 20, decided to shut him down.

Dwight would skull baynes, imo. This isn't Lakers Dwight.
Dwight, when healthy wasn't the focal point of the offense, He was averaging 11.5 attempts per game. Duncan defends him very well and Dwight will probably not exceed 35 minutes per game in the 1st round. Duncan should be able to stay on the floor for that. Baynes probably wouldn't see 10 minutes on Howard, in that series, baring foul trouble.

Sucks if he won't be able to play Sunday. I was hoping for a true test of how good we're really playing right now.

Really hope it was just precautionary.
    This.

He had issues with it in one of the Florida games earlier, sitting on the bench with ice on the calf!

So i guess it´s really just precautionary, not risking anything when having a big enough lead...

    From PtR:

"Actually, there was one other spot of bad news. Splitter left late in the first quarter with tightness in his right calf and did not return. As you're no doubt aware, that calf has been a persistent problem for him all year (and in previous campaigns), though Spurs officials didn't seem too concerned afterward. The Brazilian big man was spotted walking without a limp after the game, so we'll have to see if this is a thing."

I see it more as a precautionary thing as well and stay positive. We need Tiago badly. Baynes plays good against other teams benches, but against playoff team starters only Tiago brings the necessary skill set ...

We obviously need Splitter for the playoffs but I remember Baynes did seem to play pretty well against Howard in the past. Hopefully Splitter will be ok.

I'd be surprised if Kerr gives the luxury of testing his full lineup. Learned from the best in the biz.

There was nothing to it really. The Spurs were on defense, waiting for Denver to bring the ball up the court and you could tell Tiago's calf may have been tightening up on him. He was trying to stretch it out by flexing his foot up and down - almost like he was trying to shake it out. He kept playing, got subbed out at the normal time, sat on the bench a while, and then had some ice put on it. After a few more seconds I guess they decided to let him go back to the locker room and have the night off. They were rolling by that point and probably felt like he didn't need to play anymore.

Splitter exited with 5:33 remaining in the first quarter, departing immediately for the locker room with the team's trainer.
    http://www.si.com/game/6537566

WTF?? That's total bull . Tiago was subbed out at his normal time and sat on the bench for a few minutes. He didn't even seem to favor it when he was sitting down. A trainer eventually gave him some ice to wrap around his calf and then after a minute or two and a 20 pt lead, he went back to the lockerroom.

SMH at reporters trying to inflame a non-story. Great night for Spurs but......

Losing Tiago would suck but how about we wait until he's flailing around on the floor in severe pain until we count him out for an extended period.
