    what's bad about it, tbh?
He's still in the playoff race for one. Also, the fact that Westbrook wants to be alpha is another. He's always been considered the second option, so it's not really comparable to when alpha's "quit".

Except we're not talking about poor shot selection, which is something I actually called him out on...

Although the whole 'willingness to play to the end' doesn't really fit your agenda, so I can see why you would want to deflect, tbh...
Im only talking about bad shot selection and chucking... Where did I say something different ? I said he was top 5 player of the league right now...... I don't think I'm the one with an agenda issue

And for the record Kobe at 26 y/o was playing both end and was shooting better but Kobe is a cancer

On a side note and as I said except for the dude is re argument there is nothing justifiying taking 11 3 pts shoot when you are the worst 3 pts shooter of the league
Imagine the same situation with Parker... dude going 2-11, game lost and not passing to a 6-9 kawhi for last play... ST forum would explode of hate
5/17, 0/2 on threes... Worst +/- of team... Great game
not a good night for him but still a joy to watch him play <3

at this point Randolph is a better 3 pts shooting
rare, he is shooting .422 this season but yeah rare
he shot better than .45 three times last 15 games
Yup... I'm just talking chucking and shooting poorly....

alpha's "quit" is an oxymoron. That's why Kirby is going to be remembered as one of the best second bananas of all time.

Not by the masses. Then again I live in lakertown so the perspectives of fans I hear are pretty skewed

Do you read the posts you reply to, tbh?

You replied to one of my posts about him not quitting then tried to crowbar in the poor shot selection, when I actually said that's the main knock on him.

That doesn't mean the dude doesn't have perhaps the best motor in the league right now, and mad compe iveness.

Heck, if he had a solid shot selection, he'll probably be the best player in the league right now, tbh.

Kobe's quits have become way too predictable. Obviously, you can't expect Kobe knobslobbers to agree.

ya I used sarcasm by saying it takes courage or idiocy to continue chucking the way he does... All the posts before yours were related to shot selections... For the rest I don't buy the warrior bs but that's me

at the end kobe is a cancer but rW is a warrior...gotcha

I'm not a fan of him and KD coming back early, but not sure how much is them wanting to rush back or Scotty, tbh... and while I also appreciate his compe iveness, I think it's ridiculous to risk an injury for what seems like a lost season. That's why I said Scotty should've sat his ass down a while ago. At this point, I'm not sure it matters.

    Kobe: -2.40 RPM, 96 ORtg, 110 DRtg, 0.7 VORP, 1.6 OBPM, -1.3 DBPM, .008 WS/48
    Russ: 7.27 RPM, 111 ORtg, 101 DRtg, 5.4 VORP, 9.4 OBPM, 2.4 DBPM, .240 WS/48

Kobe was always just about scoring and his cancerous advanced numbers suggest that. Russ goes hard in all aspects. I also think Kobe is a smart guy that loves to portray himself as a warrior in order to manipulate the masses into justifying his chucking...Russ doesn't seem to be that smart. It seems like it's all instinct and desire to win for him, even if it does lead to poor shot selection.

I think it's cute how you would compare a 36 year old coming off major surgery to a 26 year old but, I digress. Westbrook plays reckless, careless and out of control but, that somehow gets portrayed as instinct and desire to win. He sacrifices wins by taking possessions and opportunities away from his teammates in order to do it all himself. That gets portrayed as "freak of nature" "lite" and "dominant" Finally, his defense is probably the most overrated aspect of his game. Need proof? April 90 ORtg 120 DRtg, March 110 ORtg 106 DRtg. His defense is a product of Serge Ibaka in the same way Kobe's defense was a product of Shaq. He's a very good athlete/player but, not the powerhouse juggernaut portrayed by the media and fans alike.

It's not fair to compare them today, compare a 26 y/o Kobe with Russel tbh Kobe in his young age was also all desire to win. But your take is rather fair... I do believe also Russel is just dumb and not as manipulative as Kobe.

And also to be fair I agree that he is leading a poor roster to a PO spot. I'm giving him credit for that. He is a star in today's league, I just question his longitivity and his overall IQ

Fun watching Westbrook take three terrible 3 pt shots at the end of the Houston game. Super talented guy who plays really hard and really dumb.

If I'm the opposing coach, I watch Russell bring the ball up in the closing seconds of a tight game and I think, " I hope he shoots a three from 5 feet behind the line." And he almost always does.
