Back in December while he was out, they didn't know what was it, so it makes sense they would take a look again now that flared up to see what might be the problem.

If the playoffs started tomorrow, I think he would play. He didn't look much in pain last night.

Splitter is way more important than Diaw. It's been Splitter's resurgence with the starting 5 that have been driving the Spurs to these huge leads. It's great to see Diaw come alive also and the Spurs probably need both. But they don't have a chance without a healthy aggressive Tiago.

Report: Spurs' Tiago Splitter getting MRI on calf
    by Shawn Krest |
    April 4, 2015 3:52 PM ET

Tiago Splitter is getting an MRI on his calf, according to one of his Spurs' teammates. PG Tony Parker said that Splitter was getting his right calf scanned at 11:00 AM., per the San Antonio Express-News. The team has not confirmed the report, nor has it released results, although Splitter has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

...just as we were really starting to get into a rhythm. Even if he's not out for that long, it sucks that we'll have that rhythm disrupted. Throw in the fact that these games down the stretch are huge for seeding...really a ty situation.

Just gotta hope that 1) he can come back relatively soon, and 2) he comes back playing like he did in March, and not like he was playing earlier in the year when he first returned from that calf injury

Great. Just when everything was starting to fall into place this stupid injury happens. This is the biggest thing I've disliked about Splitter since he's been with the Spurs. The guy has a tendency of being soft.

Typical. No one cares about starting 5 who knows anything about basketball. Tiago has no killer instinct or toughness. He's a big body that has good court vision and passing for his size. He's overrated on defense by spurs fans. He is absolutely not more needed than diaw. Diaw doesn't sit out whole series to mask his deficiency. I really don't know any other starter who has ever had to be hidden like splitter.

    Carry on with your intelligence

we should be fine against all teams not named gsw without splitter. The issue is that its going to tire out td and boris. they might not have enough come confrence finals. 4-1 loss agaimst gsw

The only team he's not huge against would be the Rockets or the Thunder. He's necessary against pretty much other West team tbh.

I'm all about having spurs at full force, but to say that sa cannot make a run of ring without tiago is pretty dumb. In order of importance to the team I would have:
    Tony
    Leonard
    Green
    Tim
    Boris/manu
    Splitter

The reality is, splitter is the best out of all of our major players to lose. Splitter wouldn't do against warriors.

    I dont disagree

I just think the spurs can still win against other teams without tiago. Makes it a lot easier though if tiago is playing

He is far and away our best defender against opposing PF. Aldridge, Dirk, Griffin, and Randolph are all in the playoffs last I checked. Every team in the NBA is a pnr team.

Your takes are big on assertions but you have no basis for your bull .

no one is denying Splitter's importance to the team. I have said numerous times we need him to start and we need him healthy.

The point I am making, The spurs will stilll win against Portland or Dallas or have a chance minus splitter...The spurs can't win against GSW without splitter. Zero chance.

Spurs will lose in the 1st round without Splitter, tbh, unless they get the Blazers(fodder) or maybe the Grizzlies, despite Splitter's importance in that series..Tiago and Diaw are probably equally valuable, but obviously for different reasons..for everything Diaw gives the Spurs as a facilitator and offensive mismatch, he's still just an average defender, at best..

Splitter is by far the best defensive big on the team, especially when it pertains to defending the perimeter in a conference with shooting bigs like Griffin, Jones and Draymond Green, along with perimeter star p&r threats like Harden, Curry, Paul that could face the Spurs as soon as round 1..
