    Duke is an elite university though, it represents a certain type of people. The students/alumni are a bunch of rich, elitist white folk. Is that anything like you?

    I give UT t-shirt fans a hard time but this is even worse since UT isn't as elitist and uppity as Duke tbh.

    When I was younger...and you turned on a Duke game...there was always 2-3 white guys on the court for them.

    I think that is the reason why a lot of white people root for the Dukies tbh....same could be said for the Boston Celtics. My mother and brother are huge Duke and Celtics fans....and honestly it's not a racist thing. It's just that white people like to pull for white basketball players. After all, there's not too many of them.

    That's the reason why Bonner is still a crowd favorite. It sure as isn't because he's great...it's because he's white.

    I can see that, I'd probably have a soft spot for Duke if they had a couple of Mexicans in their line-up too (not that that would ever happen just hypothetically speaking )...but at the end the end of the day the university still represents rich, elitist whites which is the farthest thing from what I am. One can relate more with their alma mater or if they didn't attend college then their local uni imo.
