I didnt watch the game, but read some opinions about it and I heard there was also no call on Okafor step out of bound, resulted in and-1.

Biggest call of the game was the out of bounds call.
Wisconsin down by i think 5....maybe 1:30 left in the game...and there is a ball that goes out of bounds. The refs call Duke basketball....but it's so close that they review it (so it had to be under 2:00 left). After several replays you can obviously tell that the ball was last touched by a Duke player. But the refs award the ball to Duke anyways...basically saying that there was not enough evidence. Bull call tbh....anybody with two good eyes could see it was Wisconsin's ball.
Duke then hits a three on the very next play to go up by 8....basically ending the game.
I dont know why but Duke is always favoured by the refs. I cant remember situation when refs screw Duke. It`s fair or Duke favour
Infinite cheering for the Blackest Duke team of all-time, tbh..

I won't go as far as to say that it "cost Wisconsin the championship"....but it sure as didn't help.
It's the National Championship game....and you're reviewing the play....gotta come up with the correct call.
You obviously didn't get the memo from No Lyf3.
Duke is not seen as a "white" basketball program....
The refs may have had a bad game.
But to think they do so purposely in Dukes favor is silly.
The best team won.
And that was pretty obvious imo.
It's amazing how often refs have "bad games" that conveniently happen to benefit Dook.
It's amazing how I didn't even watch that game because Kencucky wasn't in it![]()
I think the refs were hampered by reviewing the out of bounds call on a small monitor. It was obvious on a big HDTV monitor.
Apparently, they also didn't have the zoom in function to hone in on the shot.
Duke is usually playing the role of aggressor: punishing on ball pressure and attacking the rim. Refs reward this.
Duke was flying around the court, diving after every loose ball. Refs reward this on calls that can be a coin toss
I'm not sure why people say refs favored Duke. Okafor was in foul trouble entire game, Winslow for half of it, Kaminsky finished with 1 foul and Wisconsin had just 2 fouls entire first half. Wisconsin got some calls vs Kentucky to get there, and got the benefit of several flops vs Arizona to get there.
They were up 9, went cold, got rattled, and let Duke methodically get back into the game, and when a call or two late happened, they were of no mindset to overcome. They have been ref-fortunate winners all year, and now when the call isn't for them, they are ref-screwed whiners.
STFU already!
Bo Ryan complained about hand checking. After a tied 1st Half, Duke attacked the Rim while Wisconsin dribbled more and more at the perimeter. Ryan wanted Duke's shut down on ball pressure to be forced to change
IMO it just made his team sound soft. You knew going in Duke played such Defense
The
- Step out of bounds. Meh I was calling for a foul as Winslow was being humped on the baseline. Instead Winslow threw a loose ball into the paint that Okafor (Duke was faster to loose balls) grabbed
- Tipped ball outta bounds. I thought It was coin toss. It was obvious Wisky hit the ball and then Winslow 'might have' touched it. It was not obvious as some of you are making it seem.
Well said
Refs go into Half Time and make changes accordingly. Wisky having only 2 fouls was an obvious head scratcher and you knew this would change. Duke rolled the dice and attacked the Rim expecting more foul calls
Duke certainly gets its share of calls, many coin flip, many blatant, but Wisconsin has been that team for most of this year. Talk to most Big10 fans, they'll tell you. "Wisconsin never fouls" precedes them every game, to where if they are called for fouls, the refs sucked! "Wisconsin never turns the ball over" so if they do, then refs weren't calling a properly right game, allowing too much Liberty on defense.
Ya this surprised me because Wisky is a very likeable team with good storyline going into Final Four. Bo does seem to be a bitter guy. His "you don't know our programs history" approach to reporters leading up to the UK game was little guy mentality.
Wisky hadn't been to the le Game in 70 years. Ofcourse they weren't going to get the same respect as the other 3 teams. Then his post game comments were heat of the moment but it's not like they lost on a last second call: Seton Hall vs Michigan. You blew a 9 point lead......
People can blame the refs all they want but that doesn't take into account that Sam Smith...er Dekker had a bad game and the team did not go often enough to Frank the Tank or that he shriveled much of the time to the pressures of not ing things up. They played scared when they got the 9-pt lead w/Winslow and Okafor on the bench. Wisconsin deserved to lose and Duke took advantage of the Badgers' inability to defend the ball handler off the pick. Congrats to the Blue Devils.
Ryan has never been likeable. He's not a good natured sage like Lute Olson. He's an asshole who used the carefree nature of this club to camouflage himself as someone who's become likeable. It's easy to be someone likeable when you're catching all the breaks. When down, your true character is revealed.
For as much grief as Cal gets, he was completely complimentary and dignified in response after losing to Wisconsin. Sean Miller has been public ally targeted by media and refs for his on court demeanor, but was nothing but praising of Wisconsin. Both coaches had as much on the table in loss as Ryan last night. Neither went full self-righteous prick, like Ryan did.
I don't recruit rental players!
He recruited one-n-done Kevin Looney, and is recruiting likely one-n-done Diamond Stone.
He's a bitter asshole and I'm glad for the loss for no other reason that the shine is off his Apple. Everyone knows or remembers his act.
ty baby excuse.
Howd they lose 1st round last year?
Are you guys seeing all this hate towards Grayson Allen? This reeks of racism.
Rolling Stones magazine:
"Here are a couple of things I learned about Grayson Allen by perusing his bio on the Duke basketball website: He graduated laude (of course he did) from something called the Providence School, a place that defines itself on its own website as not just Christian, but "boldly Christian," in case you enjoy your Bible study with a side of audaciousness.
Watching a white player excel in a predominately black sport and throw in the religious factor. Players of Grayson's skin color are not supposed to be flying thru the sky. How dare he steal the position from an inner city kid who doesn't know his parents and battled gang influence. Well, Grayson must have had it easy.
Agreed, and I thought it was fairly balanced when you take both halves into account.
But why is it so hard for them to just call it evenly the whole game? People are constantly questioning the officiating of college ball because of blown calls where it seems like the refs get to dictate the flow of the game.
I've always felt they are victims of quotas. Certain amount of fouls must be called etc. Ton of makeup calls in the final 2 minutes in a blowout is typical.
