As long as the Spurs enter the playoffs healthy, I don't care what place they finish in.

    LOL we won't win out.

Pop MIGHT play 1 more serious regular season game this Friday and then call it a season.
Manu has ackowledged that they're pushing hard for a top 3 seed.

I'm not sure Manu has much say on what the Spurs push for. It's Pops team.

Spurs also win a three-way tie-breaker against Memphis and Houston (provided the Spurs win tomorrow) because they'd have a combined 5-3 H2H record against the other two teams, as opposed to Houston's 3-5 and Memphis' 4-4.
So if the Spurs win out, and Memphis only loses 1 game, we'd still be the 2nd seed?

So if the Spurs win out, and Memphis only loses 1 game, we'd still be the 2nd seed?
assuming ALL teams "take care of business in the other games" we have the following:

    2 MEM 56-25
    3 HOU 56-25
    5 LAC 55-26
    6 SAS 55-26

    now the scenarios:
Most likely: HOU and LAC win
    2 HOU 57-25
    3 LAC 56-26
    5 MEM 56-26
    6 SAS 55-27

    SAS @ LAC playoffs

2nd most likely: SAS and LAC win
    2 MEM 56-26
    3 LAC 56-26
    5 SAS 56-26
    6 HOU 56-26

    POR @ SAS playoffs

3rd most likely: HOU and MEM win
    2 MEM 57-25
    3 HOU 57-25
    5 LAC 55-27
    6 SAS 55-27

    SAS @ HOU playoffs

4th most likely: SAS and MEM win
    2 MEM 57-25
    3 SAS 56-26
    5 HOU 56-26
    6 LAC 55-27

    HOU @ SAS playoffs

so are HOU vs SAS series very likely? yes and no.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Spurs are probably playing the Clippers in round 1.

Not necessarily. Houston would have to do its part to make it a three-way tie.

Hater, you have your scenario wrong, Spurs come out on top in the event of a 4 way tie

I believe Memphis does. Memphis takes the division because they own tiebreaker vs Spurs. right?

No, we take the tiebreaker on common head 2 head among Memphis/Houston/Spurs, and then we get the tiebreak vs the Clips for winning the division.

Yeah but we are 3-1 on Houston (in this scenario) and Houston is 2-2 with Memphis. Therefore we have the best common record.

    what? not sure if agree:

If teams finish tied in the standings, this is how berths and seeds will be determined.

MEMPHIS over Houston: The teams split the season series. But the Rockets can no longer finish with a better division or conference record than the Grizzlies, and Memphis' record against West playoff teams (regardless of whether OKC or New Orleans make it) is guaranteed to be better.

MEMPHIS over San Antonio: The teams split the season series. San Antonio cannot finish with a better divisional record and the Grizzlies have clinched a better record against the West.

Does not mean Pop took part in the conversations.

Spurs 4 The Win is correct.

    b. More Than Two Teams Tied
    (1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division.
    (2) Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.

In the event that Houston, SA, and Memphis are tied at the end at 56-26, spurs would win the division and be 2nd seed. Doesn't matter what the Clippers do.

If it's only Spurs and Memphis tied at the end, THEN Memphis would win the tiebreaker against us. So a 3-way tie between SA/Houston/Memphis favors us heavily if we win out.

DUDE, ITS A 3 WAY TIE WITH HOUSTON. Come on. We would be 5-3 against Houston/Memphis, Memphis 4-4 against Houston/Spurs, and Houston 3-5 against Spurs/Memphis

No. They own a one-on-one tie-break, but not a three-way with Houston (if the Spurs win tomorrow)

I think it was something talked about among everybody including Pop. I think Playing all the guys on a back to back against OKC and Houston (including Tony that had to leave the game the night before) says a lot about Pop intentions regarding seedings, tbh.

    Likely Spurs 2nd seed scenarios:
    Spurs win out
Houston loses to us, then wins out
    Memphis loses one game

-- All three teams tied at 56-26, gives us the division by virtue of better overall record between the tied teams.

    OR

    Spurs win out
Houston loses to us, then does whatever
    Memphis loses two games

-- Gives Spurs better record than Memphis and tiebreaker over Houston

Doesn't matter what the Clippers do as we would win the division and be ranked ahead of them. It's crazy but there's a high chance that all 4 teams could end up tied.
