"The NFL broke new ground this week by making Sarah Thomas the first full-time female official in league history. Could a female coach be next?
Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians sees it as a true possibility.
"Someone asked me yesterday, 'When are we going to have female coaches?'" said Arians, per ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss. "The minute they can prove they can make a player better, they'll be hired."
The NFL can look to the NBA for inspiration after the forward-thinking San Antonio Spurs hired former WNBA star Becky Hammon as an assistant. Meanwhile, more than a few high school football teams have already made the leap to hire females to their coaching staff."

Fantastic idea and long overdue. We all know how detailed and nik picky women are, this would be perfect for football. They wouldn't miss anything or think something isn't important, as we all know to them everything is important. I'd want nothing but female assistant coachs.

Us guys spill something on a rug, it. They see it and it;s...OH MY GOD! That mentality is perfect for football.

You are actually trying to compare football practice to a legit game? Dude, you never played the game did ya? First off moron there is no....in the heat of battle....going on in practice, ok?

Dude, you are also trying to compare the dangers of standing on a side line vs on a football field during a game....hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then ya wonder why I laugh at you and think you're an idiot.

Hey stupid, don't we see cheerleaders standing on the sidelines? Water girls? Trianers? Medical personal?

    Poor little kid.

Right there is the problem, you are using...her...as a slam a negative. That's the problem with having females really involved in football, first off they never played the game at all. So they really don't know what it's like out there. Another thing will be the distraction and all of you have worked around women so don't pretend you don't get it. If she's hot she's got your attention.

But....as assistant coachs I do think their thing about depth and detail would be good for the sport. They do see things from a more analytical perspective.

It'll happen in the NBA before it happens in the NFL....

The NBA already has women assistant coaches.....and other women in key front office positions. I'm sure it will happen in the NFL one day, but that day is a long time away.

Football is a mans game, and 99.9% of the people in the business whether it be staff, trainers, coaches, whatever...came from the business.. And you think some woman is gonna walk into a locker room of men and get their buy in and be be respected?

Maybe in your world where you wake up and feed the birds for Judy and paint her toenails while she watches The People's Court, but not in the football world. You're gonna split your locker room and cause more problems than the publicity stunt is worth..you as a historian of everything on Earth must be able to appreciate that.

If we were talking HS/NCAA football where we have a bunch of kids I would agree with you. But this is $$$$$$$$ football, here you are trying to keep a job now things are different. And, there will be 10 year vets there to see you do get it. Guys far above this...women???...thing. That's only for young people, guys with experience know better than to play that silly bull .

Once $$$$$ comes in anything, ya drop the silly , ya concentrate on how to keep making that $$$$$. You wanna keep your job so you go with the program.

I noticed you ignored.....how many head coachs never played pro football.

I didn't ignore it, like I said 99.9% of people in the business came from the business..so a head coach with no playing experience may be the son of a successful coach, spent time as an assistant, or as a scout..etc.. what the credentials do women have to warrant a coaching opportunity? Not only do they not play, they don't coach, work in the front office, or do anything in the sport besides interview players and coaches for networks.

Now you're just rambling on stupid , you go ahead and worship the ground women walk on and praise them for ability to work in an industry that they don't belong in because some feminists are pushing their agenda everywhere it shouldn't be. Just like the Michael Sam publicity stunt, this would be cute for like 2 weeks then she's gone just like he is.
