Just curious... I know he's a restricted FA but I haven't heard any extensions for him from SA.... that's why I posted here... if another team offers him the max will he be matched? I only ask because SA doesn't have a history of maxing out there FA's

    No, don't close it yet.

your agenda op. This was settled in the off season. We are 100% unanimous going to pay.the only possible wrinkle is the stupidity of his agent.

You can't have kawhi. Get off our lawn.

if we just gave parker a max extension, i think its safe to say kawhi is getting a blank check. the only reason they haven't put pen to paper is that it gives us a window of cap flexibility this coming offseason

Probably not. He hasn't scored 30 points in a game before.

Kawhi on a max contract based on the 2015 cap will be a bargain.

He'll get the max for sure, the only questions are the length of the deal and whether or not the deal includes a player option for the final year.

The agent is a rookie and wants big money. He's the only one who has no loyalty to the team. He made some statements in the summer about wanting a max ext last summer. But the game plan was clear..wait for this summer. Wait for Duncan to decide. Look at FA and sign kawhi afterwards to maximize cap space.

There's a few weird scenarios involving the qualifying offer or trying to be free for he big tv money year. But anyway

well if the spurs are bent on keeping Kawhi than it really doesn't matter what ridiculous offer gets thrown at him.... spurs will match and he will be forced to re-sign..... now if there is any chance the spurs are not willing to cough whatever millions kawhi deserves... that's where he can entertain other teams...so I guess we will all know in July....

now you can close the thread

Anyway it's irritating because it's been discussed ad naseuem. We have moved onto fresh topics like "why does Parker suck"

You better pray that Kawhi takes the max, because if I was his agent I would have him sign a 1-year max contract with another team, become a free agent, and get the real max once the new TV deal kicks in.

    That's not possible.
There's something in the CBA that doesn't allow this?
