I do feel for their sponsorship situation. After the genuine tragedy (not caused by any president) that befell the city, there probably isn't as much industry around to choose from for sponsoring. Props to Smoothie King, whoever the they are, for filling the void. NO is just pure Americana. Hate to see it struggle.

While that may be an argument you may want to have, the jazz, French Quarter, old South and international culture mix that goes along with it, architecture, food, and swamps/coastal climate/ecosphere. Just a in' awesome place. Horrible, in some ways, to be sure...but undeniably awesome in others.

Honestly, all the good names were taken like Jazz and Voodoo, plus the owner had the rights to the name Pelicans which was the name of the minor league team for decades. I didn't care for the name, but the logos are badass.
I'm ok with the SKC as a name since it brings in more revenue to the name. Arena didn't have a sponsor for 10+ seasons and Smoothie King is a local brand. However, the Superdome got a better brand with Mercedes-Benz
