Kawhi is that type of player who needs to be involved early in the game. He didn't get the ball in the whole first quarter -only one time- and then had all the looks in the last.
This way didn't work.
He was an embarrassment tonight. I don't get it.

maybe he had a cold or was not feeling well
he had NO steals broke his streak
Yeah, I kind of agree with this. The Spurs were running a Kawhi post up as the first offensive possession of every game for about a month, they seem to have gone away from that in favour of Parker/Duncan PnR to start the game. I get it, but I would prefer trying to get Kawhi going tbh
i wonder how many games Splitter played with the Spurs against the Pelicans?
didn't play rockets in the playoffs last year, and okc started off the series without their biggest spur killer, ibaka. might've turned out differently if he played.
He played them twice.
First game was without Parker, L
Second was without Parker & Leonard, W
not when it comes on 15 shots... while handing out 11 assists with 0 turnovers
gg. No need to bump my February comment again tonight.
you got me there
good luck upsetting some teams
And won't play the Pels this year either.
Extreme regret for partaking in 'Spuran Spuran,' imo.
god i hope so.
Saw a thumbnail of this on Facebook, did not look at it because yeah, seemed like it would be extremely cringeworthy.
Thanks. We won't upset the Warriors. Our D isn't strong enough and they have too much firepower. Had the Pels been healthy all season, they may have had a better seed and could have possibly pulled off an upset. I'm still not a Monty fan at all, but it is a player's league.
Kawhi has never been good with getting around screens. That's how Evans gets free.
True green is much better
Like many said, it seemed like Pop wanted to lose this game. Maybe he didn't want to coach against Carlisle two seasons in a row. Rivers is no match for Pop. Spurs really didn't play to win. For this team, HC really doesn't matter as matchups do. And playing two teams in a row with HORRIBLE FT shooters gives the Spurs a huge ace in their pocket to counter the refs and to take a teams crowd out of a game fast.
Yeah he tends to go way around them over the top, trying to avoid all contact, which pretty much takes him out of the play. Maybe he thinks he can make up the ground? Which he obviously can't with the quicker guys.
He really needs to fight through them more when he's guarding the quick guys.
Terri Schiavo ed around and had a triple double on Parker in a pick up game once
he does tend to allow players lots of freedom. with smaller players he is successful because of his deceptive reach. But with longer players, the reach is not enough. He does need to take a few notes from the Bowen school of defense for bigger guys
He didn't even want to go through a Bargnani screen ffs
