no HCA throughout the POs possibly
tough 1st round matchup hmmm, spurs destroyed the clippers the last time they faced in the POs, not sure it would be the same this season
We don't need splitter to send jordan to the freethrow line

I doubt it. Like several people have said, this was basically a playoff game. I really think Splitter is done for the season and they're waiting to announce it like they did with Tim back in 2000.
Splitter is gonna play Sunday tbh.
This wasn't a playoff game. Pop rested people. There's no way Danny sits down that long and Beli plays that long if it's a playoff game.
Spursfan really has short memory on how Pop coaches these games...
Griffin has really refined his game since then.
Pop has coached terribly all season, there's no reason to think it won't carry over into the playoffs.
most of them expect us to win every game. As soon as we lose a game, the season is over haha. I remember the collapse last year after game 2 in the finals. I calmly said, "i'm not concerned, we will win game 3, i guarantee it". And what happened? People here are worried about everything. I'm not worried at all. I will never fear the clippers as long as jordan can't shoot freethrows
Robz, gotta save some of that meltdown for Round 1 homie
I'm not one for cliff-jumping normally. I think we're the best or second best team in the leauge but I'm seriously depressed about facing the Clippers who are way more dangerous than people think. Maybe even third best team in the league battling Cleveland for that spot and one of the few teams with a fully legit chance of beating us. Especially with the Splitter questions.
Clippers various numbers as a team have been excellent for a while now. Paul and Griffin are HEALTHY which they haven't been in the most important moments for them in recent years (ppl forget that) and in the playoffs their awful DOC RIVERS-GM-depth will be less of a factor.
We'll have to be at our excellent best right from the start.
I still believe. Never stopped believing. ing cliffjumpers every last one of all y'all lol! The Spurs ARE the best team in the NBA. No NBA team (Warriors included) can keep a streak going so it was evident that the Spurs' streak would end. The team is not all of a sudden garbage after a loss. Every streak is busted. Besides, the Spurs needed this loss because there has always a period of doubt and conflict leading up to each championship run. It might be a tough first round and we may struggle like last year against the Mavs but when we get out of it (might go 6), we will be ready for anyone. If you don't recall, the Mavs gave us fits last year and then we rolled over the rest with championship mettle. This first round is very close to a legit finals matchup if the Clips were in the East. Bump this after we win round one. We own Choke Paul. Just ask Clipper Nation.
The West seeding has been a nightmare for a month, the top half of the bracket has been beating the out of each other to the point that the match ups hardly even mean that much. The Spurs were going to get the Clippers eventually, and although HCA would have been nice, there's just no easy way out of the West this year.
Many concern after tonight, having not watched the game, is what effect this loss has on the players going into LA for Games 1 and 2. They were on a brilliant streak, playing well, and were very vocal about trying to finish as a 2 or 3 seed. To squander that effort in the final game of the season has to do something to you, I imagine. I'm less worried about facing LA without HCA and more concerned that the team's psyche has been damaged to some extent by this.
i know we're just fans and I'm talking about the mental strength of a championship team of professional athletes, but it can't be easy to rip off an 11 game streak, climb to No. 2 in the standings, only to lose one game and fall all the way back to 6th. I didn't see the game, I don't know what happened, but I can only hope my gut is wrong about the effects of this loss and instead it lights a fire under the team like losing the 2013 Finals did.
I should also mention that it IS still nice to know that the team Westbrook scoffed at rooting for is personally responsible for his elimination from playoff contention.
And teams 2-7 are all within one game in the standings... they're all evenly matched, and they can all win on the road.... the Spurs need health, and they'll be ok if they have that.
I'm saving the best for last, but we've both been noticing Pop's awful coaching decisions this year. Maybe he'll start to get serious, but he usually does that in March. It's the middle of April and I'm still noticing terrible rotations and playcalling.
the very first play of the game was Duncan posting up Asik, and he proceeded to turn it over...
Agree with this post. It has to be somewhat deflating. One can say that even though we ended up the 6th seed, we at least developed a great team rhythm and chemistry fighting for a top seed. A good deal of that gained rhythm has been somewhat non existent the last couple of games though. Hoping Kawhi goes crazy in game 1.
Well and succinctly put my friend.
Yep, feels like . This could mean the difference between having a good post-season, and getting eliminated in the first round (and Tim and Manu retiring).
There's a time for optimism, and feeling better, but let's leave that for later when we win some games. Now it's time to jump some cliffs.
Wrong thread tbh
CIA Pop going with bad rotations to throw off the opposition in the playoffs when he gets serious!
Look pop said he would have played splitter if this was a playoff game. So he thought this wasn't a playoff game to them. So it isn't too bad. Pop knows what he is doing.
all of you stupid band wagoning ass fans in this thread, don't cheer now.
