He was probably referring to kawh.
Still he is probably more pissed Pop plays Evita over him
“I guess I could have been more aggressive, but it was one of those games Pop stressed to stay in the system and not try to play hero ball,” Green said.

how in this quote could be interpreted as a shot at Parker ?
Spurs fans...![]()
The Spurs attempted 10 3PT shots yesterday, 5 by Manu and 4 by Paddy when a certain starting PG was on the bench. Most of his assists are off a two-man game with Timmy which stagnates the offense. The got just s on the system when he refuses to play like a role player tbh.
Dg shouldnjust say pop and his love for cancernelli
The funny thing is I saw them advertising a commercial for the playoffs which kept mentioning hero ball![]()
so now the system is to jack up very long twos the whole game... yaaay
Picking up 2 early fouls didn't help. He's not usually aggressive anyway, he is usually the guy who gets open shots or an occasional backdoor cut.
Tony shot 11-17 and had 6 assists.
Pop has always asked Tony to be aggressive. When Tony is playing outside of what Pop has asked, he gets scolded. There are certainly times when Tony kills the flow of the offense by being too aggressive but it's naive to think Tony is entirely free to dictate his role in the offense. I understand this is obvious to most Spurs fans, save for those being deliberately obtuse regarding Tony's role. I don't think Green's comments were a shot at anyone. I think he was just regurgitating what he had heard from Pop.
Kawhi's game has been a little more "hero ball" than Tony's, mostly because his game requires a clear-out. That being said, I have no problem with Kawhi's ISO's. It sometimes kills the ball movement, but it's part of the learning process. He will learn when and when not to take over - same as Manu, Tony and Tim. But he needs reps right now to improve. The learning process is give and take (from a wins/system perspective), and it comes with the territory with young players.
manu jacking up that stupid three was trying to be hero ball
which of his 5 bricked 3s are you talking about?
There's no way to understand the irrational hate for the best point guard to ever wear a Spurs jersey. I do think the offense is still finding its way as it falls on Kawhi to be more of a dominant scorer. Part of the issue, I think, is that he is not used to being the focal point of the offense, and so its hard for him to get a feel of when to take over versus when to let the offense have more flow.
Back in the day, he'd hit those. It's been hard to see his game drop off, but that's his game and he can't change the way he plays, he just plays less minutes.
spurs were down 7 I think mid 4 quarter he then went down and pulled up and shot a three
oh, Manu does that all the time
it's either a brick 3 with 20 seconds left on the ShotClock or a pass to the lady in the 2nd row tbh
I don't think our shot selection is why we lost. Even though it was pretty bad, we didn't have a hard time scoring. Turning the ball over and defense (or lack thereof) lost us the game.
Why does everyone around here think the offense was the problem? They scored 103 points on 57FG%. Green was awful defensively yesterday, as was the team.
Just because Green couldn't get open and Leonard didn't take the most shots, it's hero ball all of a sudden. 33 assists... But ok.
The Spurs just didn't seem emotionally invested in this game. They had no intensity during the game. I think they were already thinking ahead to the playoffs.
BTW,Parker haters hate even when Parker is effecient.
It's hero ball!

ty, ty defense lost this game. If Norris Cole and Tyreke Evans are balling on your players, you might want to take those players out of the lineup.
I have no problem with Parker taking those shots. New Orleans was okay with giving those up. My problem is the fact that he played pathetic defense that made scrubs look like superstars.
I don't think anyone could argue otherwise, but when people are complaining about hero ball it's a different story.
No one was great defensively last night. Kawhi was getting burned by Tyreke freaking Evans. TP and CoJo let Norris Cole score 13 points in the 2nd quarter.
Leonard barely touched the ball, just Diaw/Duncan over and over again, watching Parker dribble, dribble. The Spurs' offense runs much better through Leonard, it's no contest. They share the ball much better igniting the team on both sides of the court, Leonard breaks down the defense and shares the ball with his team.
I'm not sure if Parker/Leonard can coexist with each other, Parker's style of play is just too selfish, it worked when we didn't have anybody else on the roster, but now we do.
Spurs with Parker at the helm hero balling=1st round exit
Spurs with Leonard at the helm=Championship.
the most ridiculous thing to do is to blame Spurs Offense or Parker in the O to explain we lost
Spurs shot 57%, they did not score a lot of 3s but still managed to score > 100 pts, Spurs total assist amount to 33 vs. 23 for Pelicans. Ball movement was perfectly fine, Parker took 17 shots (11/17), Kawhi 14 (6/14 must be Parker's fault he shot poorly) and Boris 14 (10/14).
We lost on TOs 15 vs. 9 and on an overall poor defense letting Pels shoot 5/10 on 3s and > .50 overall.
exibit A
Except for the fact that Kawhi had 14 shot attempts.![]()
