Any more Splitter news?
Kept tying the intro to Lebowski in my mind.![]()
Anyone know the most popular Clips board?
Thought the Clips were better than that on defense. Good news.![]()
The only one I know is clippers topbuzz but even that forum is pretty much dead.
Kawhi sets the tone, and Danny follows. Parker will be on the court doing something.
What do we make of the previous two meetings between the teams? Anything to take away from those games?
Feb 19 away L 115-119:
Spurs at full strength
TP goes for 21 and 13
Blake Griffin DNP
Deandre goes 10/28 from the FT line but the Clips still win.
Of course KL going 1/11 contributed mightily to that L
Jan 31 home L 85-105:
Spurs at full strength, (maybe Splitter was still recovering.)
Griffin goes for 31
Clippers basically lead from start to finish.
it reminded me too
That's for the whole season though. Would like to see those stats since the Spurs have been healthy.
It's just the first round, it's a good matchup for him to go Kawhisolation early/often, and in Socal where his family can more easily travel and catch the games. Yeah, Kawhi should bust out with this scenario and it bodes well if this round gets him going-- could mean a deep run and another corner turned for Kawhi.
I was ing about getting stuck with 6 and the Clips till I realized Kawhi is from there and probably will get a boost from playing in front of his friends classmates/coach and family in the region he grew up in. He's gonna feel right at home.
Yes it's time to put on a show for his friends and family.![]()
Even before the loss against the Pelicans, the Spurs hadn't been that great or sharp the two games before. Maybe there's a silver lining in that, though, maybe it renews a sense of urgency for the players that, I guess, can easily get lost a bit in the midst of a prolonged winning streak.
The Clippers could potentially be a very tough first-round opponent, but if the Spurs are playing close to their own potential ceiling, they will win this series. The Clippers have basically three players who can create shots for themselves or others (Paul, Blake, Crawford), and the Spurs have decent to really good defensive options against all three.
On the other hand, the Clippers will have their hands full defensively if our guys manage to maximize their offensive talent (which requires a finely balanced approach that isn't easily achieved).
From SI.com...
"In the last 12 games of the regular season, San Antonio pulled off the holy trinity of dominance, ranking No. 1 in net rating (17.9), offensive efficiency (113.3) and defensive efficiency (95.4)."
