By who, who compared them? The Spurs of last year had one of the most dominant runs of all times winning by 15+ a ton of times, a record. I don't care who mentions it or whatever they were that dominant and thats a fact. I have not seen the teams compared either, just know as far as le runs go and average PPG in wins the Spurs are king from last year.

I really think Duncan is going to not stop talking once he hangs it up. You don't play Basketball for 20 years and then walk away. He'll be back, and people will put him on TV to talk about his rings and nerd hobbies. Meanwhile KG is basically a walking spit and rage machine. If Duncan could fix his whiny voice it'd be much different already. but give it a few years after he will retire and people will start talking about him as Greatest of all time.
And any coach who works with posts will have a Library full of Duncan vids. Every young post, coached by any competent person, will know Duncan. There will be a Duncan manual.
All these HS posts that are athletically gifted grow up on using athleticism as their weapon. Then they meet other big fish with no fundamentals to fall back on. And Fail.

The only times I've ever heard Duncan speak is at the NBA Finals when they shove microphones in his face. I definitely see Duncan leaving basketball and not looking back. The guy already seems like he has one foot out the door and only does it for his teammates
I think it's 50/50. He's got a personality and i wouldn't be suprised if most of his friends are playing ball rather than not. His business ventures are mainly hobby type stuff. Who knows. I think the hermit version of Duncan was overblown. Being a basketball all pro is kind of demanding.
All i know is that he can't be worse than guys like Suan, Bowen, and Avery being put on TV.
The thing about KG though, warrior style works great for your player days but once you retire that shtick is stale fast. KG is not really a brand like JOrdan either. And he's not really a beloved icon by any city. He's behind Pierce. didn't deliver in minny either.
KG will be an interesting footnote. Duncan is the heir to Russel. Everytime you see Russel on TV that'll be Duncan in years ahead.
He clearly stated on numerous occasions he'll take some time off but come back to basketball in some kind of capacity.
