Not trying to be a troll here, but I felt like all of the bigs, Duncan, Splitter, Baynes, and Diaw were afraid of DeAndre Jordan. Anytime they had the ball near the hoop they were hesitant and didn't go up with any authority. Did it seem to anyone else that the SA bigs were afraid? And if so, will they get over that fear in game 2? Because honestly that was the biggest issue to me, their hesitance around the hoop led to many missed easy opportunities that didn't allow them to keep the game really close at times.

The paint was packed tonight, and it didn't help at all we couldn't knock down our open 3s. Boris will be key to space the floor and give us more room, but he has to knock down the shots.

    Patty as well.

Boris' mid range is important this series to keep the defense honest, but he needs to be decisive with it. He hesitated too much today.

Definitely too much hesitancy on everyone's part in the paint . . . Jordan's gonna block shots. Just keep taking it at him.

The rainbow shots were embarrassing. It was like he was 30 foot tall in their minds. Jordan isn't a 'great' player. He's a good player. Work his ass, make him foul. Go at him. Christ.

If I were 'the spurs' I'd go at him, hard. From start to finish.

Yeah looked like Deandre Jordan presence was making us in our pants in the paint like when we play OKC with Ibaka on the floor.

It's brutal playing with a point guard that can't space the floor like the Tony.

    The Spurs will adjust.

The interior defense was packed, and Jordan along with Griffin did not have to run around too much to patrol the paint.

Mostly static interior offense from the Spurs, easier to cover by athletic, rangy players.

Next game, I think the Spurs will try to pull Jordan away from the paint with perimeter shooting, high post plays and more "hockey assist" passing instead of direct interior passes to the crowded paint area.

And over 12 mins of Joseph. Play Patty, try to limit Crawford (and not with KL - he doesn't go over screens well) and dare Paul to keep up this scoring for a series.

if they are gonna post Kawhi, they need to keep Jordan on the other side of the court. His height when trapping was giving Kawhi problems.

We did not have a lot of mid range jumpshots also this game.

All 3s or under the basket type shots.

Mix things up like a veteran pitcher and they opposition will get their brains scrambled.

There were flashes of it earlier. But too little.

And the impact of Red I feel is underappreciated. Did not score a ton, but did enough to change the tempo and skew the defense.

The way to beat a trap like that is by making a quick move before the big can establish good trapping position. Kawhi needs to decide BEFORE the trap arrives whether he's going to freeze/confuse the defense by making a move towards the goal or dribble away from the double into a pass which hopefully leads to moving the ball to an open shooter or cutter. Unfortunately, that's a lot to ask from Kawhi considering he has little experience facing hard double teams.

Those were championship like celebrations from the Clippers on early game 1 plays though... Make your own conclusions on when was the last time the Spurs celebrated like that on a 1st round in the playoffs...

We waxed a Heat team last year that would've hammered this Clips team. We're much, much better than we played last night.

Is a Warriors fan actually going to criticize a team for "overcelebrating"?

Curry does half-hour dance routines after every made basket instead of getting back on defense

It was in their heads let's hope it got out. You see after CoJo dunked on ibaka that myth is gone. Baynes could've dunked on him last night but threw up some weak that rolled out. They just need to go up strong two big 7-fters he's bound to foul.
