Agree with Brazil. I think the plan was to attack CP3 and the only way to do that is with Parker. Unfortunately TP didn't have it last night.
He hasn't had it all season. He isn't going to magically get it now. His best game all season was probably the roxs game where he dominated the corpse of Jason Terry. Parker couldn't even get a shot off with Austin "how the am I in the NBA" Rivers guarding him.

Bull . You may include him but you never blame solely Parker. And Kawhi has the bed plenty of times this season. But unlike Parker, a bad game from Kawhi still means he got at least some steals and played good defense. Parker is useless if he isn't hitting shots which he hasn't been doing on a consistent basis.
You continue to lie brah... I never blame solely a player because you win / lose as a team nevertheless I put plenty of time the most blame on Parker on a lot of games...

Stop deflecting tho... I'm talking about yesterday loss you continue saying Kawhi is Spurs best player (no sherlock... I agree) now yesterday... Kawhi had 4 steals for 4 TOs, he defended like crap yesterday with opponents scoring 90% against him. So ?

Solid thread, tbh... don't forget that Tony also played injured for most of the game... What's Kawhi excuse?

How this related to OP ? There are threads about general suckiness but now about double standard and who to blame for last night ? any thought ? or just general statement on how Parker sucks that has nothing to do with OP ?
"Is kawhi not the best player of the team, the FMVP, the top 10 players of the league who is supposed to lead the Spurs to a repeat ?"

Kawhi has the ball less than Tony despite the fact he can't score on anyone. How the does he expect to score on CP3? Can't really lead the team with so many wasted possessions. Although Kawhi didn't play great the players surrounding him were conducive to him playing well. He played much of the game with 3 non-shooters.

solid post tbh... don't forget that Kawhi has been aggressively double teamed tbh and he had to defend some great wing players all night

A fluke game considering the next game a couple days later.

The majority of the roster played like . Danny Green was absolutely terrible. Very frustrating and disheartening to watch. Hopefully Pop can make adjustments and the players execute. Their unwillingness and inability to attack the rim reminds me of last year against the Thunder when Ibaka would shut down all the penetration for a while. Eventually the Spurs prevailed, lets hope they can do that again.

It definitely looks like he wasn't prepared, which you can put on him or Pop. He's never had a problem unthawing after being frozen out for a while, but the whole double-team thing is certainly new.

It was a good game plan by Doc, but Pop will counter it in game 2. If DJ is double-teaming KL, he's not protecting the rim.
It's Kawhi's first year at being a post "go to" option. He seemed a little rattled by the double team and held the ball too long. I think Pop will try to counter by going with Diaw or Bonner in the starting lineup, try to get Jordan away from the basket, similar to Ibaka and OKC last year. They just got to swing the ball faster.

It didn't really matter that Kawhi held the ball too long or had bad passes while double teamed. No one outside of Mills and maybe Marco could hit a shot last night. Pop pulled Mills early so Pop for that.

not sure what's your point... in the context when Kawhi is being the best Spurs player he should receive most of the blame for a PO loss don't you think ?

Wasted possessions ? like his 4 TOs ? dat kind of wasted possessions ? Offensively Kawhi has been meh but nothing to be concerned, he received tons of double teams normal he had to pass the ball more and normal in the process he had TOs... this does not explain his lack of defensive impact last night

its kind of hard to play defense when a traffic cone plays better D than your starting PG, tbh. Kawhi can't do it all. The clips were coming in waves last night.

You're saying that because Kawhi is our best player he should receive most of the blame. I don't agree with that at all. Kawhi had a solid game and played better than everyone on the Spurs last night.

Parker didn't have a great game..but at one point he kept the Spurs in striking distance during his stretch..but he isn't to blame for this loss.

Spurs just got best for multiple reasons...can we honestly just talk basketball instead of attacking players with certain agendas?? This is why the forum was made right?

bad game but who on the spurs played better? Parker with his 4-11 shooting, 2 turnovers and 1 assist? 1 ASSIST FROM OUR STARTING PG. Tim had 4 assist, Kawhi had 3, Boris had 5, and Manu had 6. our starting PG had 1. Just 1. Uno for our spanish speaking audience.

yes it's an issue. the team is older and he is playing like . Mills played like a 6th man last year and now he looks like trash except for a few games this season. last season is last season.
