have sorta given up on console gaming...

    a) still on the previous gen, my TV currently has a PS3 and N64 connected to it
    b) haven't turned on either console since december

but i used to be a huge fan of COD going back to world at war. loved black ops and black ops 2. i might be in the minority, but i think the treyarch games outperformed infinityward. the modern warfare series was more aesthetically pleasing for sure. better graphics, smoother engine/hit detection, etc. but their games were just full of too much , characters died too fast, guns had virtually no recoil, explosives were rampant and OP, and deathstreaks. MW2 is literally the biggest piece of ever, which is disappointing because the engine/graphics/maps were ing great. commando, one man army, danger close, shotgun secondaries ( those would have been broken as primaries too). its not like i was bad at the game, but it was infuriating to play

the treyarch games (world at war, black ops, black ops 2) might not have looked as nice, but imo they played better. and i was pretty damn good at BO and BO2. then ghosts came out (yeah, i know i got the end of the stick since i didnt get a ps4), and ghosts was literally so bad i dropped COD as a whole, and since COD was usually my game of choice, i sorta stopped playing (well, that and workload at school).

a new console isn't an investment i'm willing to make atm, and so while i'd probably enjoy BO3, i dont think its gna happen anytime soon

Over the past month I've played

    MW2
    BO1
    MW3
    BO2
    & Ghost

Ghost is seriously underrated. It's a well rounded game. BO1 is the most well balanced [My friend keeps hitting me up to play, he runs around with shotgun. He quit after 3 games on MW2]. The issue with the Black Ops is the weapons aren't fun but on the flip side they aren't easy to use for noobs. MW2/MW3 and even Ghost: pick up weapon and sit in corner. Atleast MW3 forced you to level up the guns individually with kills. BO2 was my least favorite.

black ops probably has the least "fun factor" especially for new players, but it was overall the most balanced imo, which is what i like. BO2 was fantastic... i love that it rewarded everything for your killstreaks. captures, defends, assists, etc (i mostly play domination, and i always hated people who just kill- d, so it was good for the game to reward objective players).

if i really went for just k/d, i could easily post 2+ but i'd much prefer to be the highest on the scoreboard because of caps/defends while still putting up a net 1.8 or so k/d. (my best score ever was 103-1 on nuketown on BO1 ). BO2 scoreboards kept track of things like score per minute in addition to just k/d, so u can see who's being active and who isn't. my spm was usually hovering between 500 and 600 iirc. haven't played those games in a while, but i probably will have time to kill over the summer. if anybody here still plays it on ps3, pm me

Ya you are spot on in comparing the Black Ops series. It's also why sniping all but disappeared. 3 minutes into MW2 and I was able to perform well with the Intervention/Barrett

Oh you play Domination? I've always be TDM guy but I switched to Kill Confirmed on MW3.

I had so many clutch Search and Destroy moments with my golden olympia in Black Ops 1. Two s s of rock salt to the chest and you gone

Modern Warfare 1 will always be the gold standard of the CoD franchise imo but between campaign, multiplayer, zombies and wage modes, Treyarch games really give you the most bang for your buck.

yeah, sniping in black ops 1 was by far the worst in any cod game ever. i'll grant you that. but snipers are usually just assholes to sit in one spot and stare at one door/hallway/window for the duration of a match. in mw2 and mw3 i quickscoped here and there

i'll get around to adding you once im out of school... hopefully i'll remember to pull this thread up

they nerfed the snipers cause of quickscoping gots in mw. Unfortunately the nerfed them too much. Then for BO they added their own version of last stand which was absolute horse cause the guy was invincible as he was falling to the . How does something like that make it passed beta

yeah that was an awful mechanic. i thought BO2 was the best game of them all. sniping was good but not crazy like modern warfare series

I'll check out BO2 again in the next few days. The picture and sound was top notch

The game play just clunky and weapons: only enjoyed MTAR, Vector and AN-94. Headaches with the Boat Map. Perks were balanced

almost everything about that game was balanced, i dont think there was necessarily 1 gun that outlcassed everything. the targetfinder was sort of a attachment, but i dont think it was broken. loved the auto-shotty and the slug one. plus it was cool to have one of the snipers with iron sights available... brought me back to world at war days

Let me save you the trouble:

You're dropped deep into whatever hole they happen to be in now, and you and your teammates struggle through hundreds of people who can shoot pretty well but must be using paintballs, then your commander turns out to be a ing traitor. Eventually you and your buddy, the one that survives, gets him back though, then you both smoke cigars as the wreckage burns.
