Help defense, post defense, perimeter defense, ball denial, playing the passing lanes, proper shot contests, etc.

The Heat have their system set up around Lebron, kind of like the Spurs with Parker, as much people want to talk about being the #1 option being difficult, you also have an entire team trying to get your game going.

Every time Leonard denied Lebron proper post position, denied the ball, forced him out on the perimeter, forced him to dribble late into the shot clock it ed the Heat's offense. Each time the Heat were trying their hardest to get this guy going, and couldn't.

Lebron's points came in short bursts, on switches, difficult shots, loose balls, jumpers, turnovers, down 20.

The biggest thing was Leonard guarding him 1v1, most teams must swarm him with every man, breaks the team's defense. Guarding him 1v1 doesn't allow him to draw nearly as many doubles, and that is huge. They're running their entire offense through him, it's incredibly difficult defending him 1v1, almost impossible, Leonard made that series for him, the stats do not reflect his performance at all. Only idiots that don't know what they're looking at will think Lebron had his way lmao.
    Be specific.

the spurs on the heat tbh...

in games 3-5, kawhi basically matched lebron blow for blow... and that spelled doom for miami. no way they were beating the spurs if lebron and kawhi had equal production

to be fair, that was like 3 years ago when the bulls were at their peak, and were the league's highest ranked team defense.

though butler wasn't as good an offensive player then as he is now

Eh, that graphic is a bit skewed since they're including Pippen's Finals stats past his prime years. During the first 3 peat he was practically a walking triple-double in the Finals. During the 2nd 3peat his body began to break down year after year due to the mileage of deep playoff runs every year and his stats took a hit.

    1st 3 peat

    1991 - 20.8 ppg (45.3 FG%), 9.4 rpg, 6.6 apg, 2.4 spg, 1 bpg

    1992 - 20.8 ppg (48.4 FG%), 8.3 rpg, 7.7 apg, 1.5 spg, 0.7 bpg

    1993 - 21.2 ppg (44 FG%), 9.2 rpg, 7.7 apg, 2.0 spg, 1 bpg
