In the last two months JJ has been averaging around 21PPG (50% shooting) and one of the biggest reason why they were on a streak.

Right now..He is 8-25. Shooting 32% ..In two games he's scored a total of 26..

Pop doesn't want JJ to get Hot..He wouldn't mind two guys scoring 20+ but a third guy would be problematic..

He's doing all this while leading the team in points and 2nd in rebound and first in steals and first in %

I always said Kawhi needs to stay away from CP3. We need him for rebounds and a plus is he keeps JJ in check.

He should be guarding Crawford and Re , while Green should be on Paul, like we saw for most of the OT..

The other guy should always be on Barnes..I don't know why Pop hasn't used Tony on Barnes at all in this series, so far, his only offensive skill is cutting to the basket without the ball..he's a terrible player..

I think Tony on Barnes would actually benefit us in more than one way. Of course you'd have the preferred Green/Leonard vs Paul matchup, but you'd also tempt Doc to try and exploit the Barnes vs Parker matchup, which would take the ball out of Paul's and Griffin's hands.

Lol on ball maybe. Lots of screens bothered Leonard and he gave jt wide open 3 at the end when he walked back.

Good coaching move. Leonard needs to step it up

Listened to the Clippers feed for the first half. They mentioned that they expected KL to play CP3 the entire game but were surprised that he was guarding Red . They mentioned that GSW put their best defender on him and that they Spurs may have figured out the same thing.

The more and more i think about the more I like KL on Red .

The Clippers really are only playing 8 players +10 minutes (starting 5 + Crawford, Davis, Rivers) of those players only CP3, Red , & Barnes are above average 3pt shooters. Barnes is streaky. Putting Leonard on their best 3pt shooter and having Green covering Paul. They help the Clippers to 29% from 3 on 29 attempts.

If KL can keep Red on lock down and Paul's 3pt shooting comes down to earth (6-10 in first two games) plus the Clippers losing possessions because of Hack-A-Jordan. The Spurs can put more pressure on Paul and Blake to carry the offense.

Yeah. Just like the Golden State series in 2013.

Kawhi guard Klay and Danny on Curry.

Now put Kawhi on Red and Danny on CP3.

just goes to show, how under the radar danny green and cory joseph still are, as the true pg stoppers.

“Their team overall has done a really good job,” Re said. “They’ve put an emphasis on guarding me and obviously having the Defensive Player of the Year on me has been a challenge. He’s a great defender. I think part of the shooting struggles are just I’m not getting easy looks. I can make tough shots, but when the majority of shots are tough shots, it’s a little harder.”

“It’s kind of ironic, I did Zach Lowe’s podcast when we were in New York a month ago and he asked me who I thought the best wing defender was,” Re recalled. “I said Kawhi and Danny Green, and that’s who I’m going against in the first round. It’s been a challenge, those guys are great.”

“They’ve been in our air space,” Re said. “They’ve really taken away the flow of our offense with the switches they’ve done, so it’s been a challenge for us to score. You have to give them credit, and we have to be better.”
