Has to get over himself.
In Game 1 he played 20 minutes, got posterized a couple of times by Griffin, and lost his composure. He was getting emotional, acting like a little on the court.
Then in Game 2 he gets a DNP-CD.
Prior to Game 3, Pop says he's a definitive "no", implying some sort of injury. Yet he plays during garbage time.
Methinks this is CIAPop teaching him a lesson for his behavior in Game 1.
Has to get over himself.
He doesn't really have a place in this series, tbh..if the Spurs beat the Clippers, he'll play a role vs. Houston, though..we've already seen how he gets under Pedo's skin..
Nah, the implied injury was Pop being nice to save face for Baynes. There's no lesson to be taught, Big Banger isn't so big going against the likes of Blake and DJ and he doesn't have the skills to compensate for not being able to outmuscle an opponent. His only role in this series, if he even gets off the bench, will just be to hack a Jordan until he fouls out.
He was one of the few players who actually played with heart in that game. I want him to get playing time to rest timmy more
I don't think it's the doghouse, just not the right player for this series, as HH said... with Tiago getting healthier, his mins were bound to decrease
I just don't know how he could get a pre-game "definitively out" from Pop and then see garbage time. Something's fishy, and his behavior in game 1 is the only real explanation, he lost composure
What are you talking about? He didn't pout nor act like a . He brought some toughness in game 1 that few others did. So he got dunked on a few times - at least he went for the blocks. He was an inch away from rejecting that . You're gonna hold that against him for trying?
I like the way he dunks decisively when he catches the ball at the rim, something none of our other big men seem to ever do. Baynes has improved a lot. He's definitely a rotation player now.
When did Pop say definitely no?
And who asked?
^re-watch the game. His demeanor, the way he was aimlessly sprinting up the court... he lost his temper.
Why was he a "definitive no" before this game?
Maybe he was a bit hurt, and Pop was going to save him, but the blowout changed plans... who knows... I'm glad he gave us some minutes. Rather he be out there in garbage time with Bonner and Ayres than having to play Boris or Tiago.
He will needed soon....
bring on Houston!!!!
Go Spurssssssssssssssssssssssssss go!!!
Look who's back!
How you been, stranger?
So the "no" wasn't definitive.
Pop always saving tony's ego by blaming injuries.![]()
Right. Because Pop is known to risk injury with players in garbage time after declaring them out with injury the same day.
But he wasn't declared out as indicated in the last tweet.
Doesn't refute my point.
And a LATimes reporter:
Splits and chump in a disagreement over misunderstandings. Should be good.![]()
He pouted and acted up in game 1??? I would say its because he was getting abused out there and not for this series Pop saw so he sits him. Splitter getting more mins as well.
I don't think he pouted or acted like a . He tried hard but he's just outmatched in this series. He'll have a big role against Houston. Which is odd to me, Baynes should be no match for Howard but I guess Howard is enough of a re that he let's Baynes get under his skin.
Actually it does refute you and all the other tweets.
