Followed by 2009 where an uninspiring season and no Manu in playoffs led to a 1st round loss to the Mavs.
Spurs looked old and ty in the 2008 wcf against the Lakers. manu looked hurt, Duncan looked old and tired, and the roster was old and lacked depth... To make 3 conference finals, 2 finals, 1 le ever since and still be a contender to win a le this year is just... Unbelievable quite frankly. what an amazing job (duh)

Wasn't Roger Mason our leading scorer at one point that year?
Even 2010 was ty, getting swept by the Suns in round 2. That was rock bottom for me.
2011 was when the resurgence began (maybe late in the 2010 calendar year).
Wasn't 2011 when 8 happened?
Yes, but they were dominant in the regular season, and that momentum carried over to the next season when they won 20 straight games on the way to a conference finals.
2011 was the beginning of the upward trajectory, although it ended badly.
IMHO it just shows how ty the rest of the league has been. There ain't no more dominant power in the league like the prime Shaq/Kobe. They were such teams with dominant potential such as the Thunder and Monkeyball but neither lived up to their potential, and the cHeat have always been hampered by the lack of a good coach so they also kind of underachieved despite their talent level.
Actually, me and my friend were talking about this today. It truly is mind blowing how the spurs are still relevant since 1999 with a similar core
that sweep by the hands of the grizzlies or next 1-2 seasons after that sweep,
for every playoff game loss has to be put on t hat turd enrique, is there a reason why you should STOP defering to the man who has 20pts in the first half with the hot hand, only to see him score 2-4pts for 2nd half, cause enrique to buzy ruining another players career high game...u either win his way, or u dont win at all, ive seen enough of this clowns antics, this clown is worse then that cripple **** from LA
2012 was the start of the resurgence.
Tim Manu Tony played younger. Surrounded by younger supporting cast. And Kawhi happened.

Remember this football head-shaped hit a three at the buzzer against Phoenix on Christmas day, and then beat the Lakers in one regular season game in 2009.
the day the spurs traded for kawhi, is when t he new era started
yet that fkn turd of a pg never got the memo, still thinkn its his team
he showed us under his leadership led to jack from 08/12....
the year he had the off the court bull leading to the grizz sweep
bending over the following year to okc thinkn he was really mvp, talkin it up against westbrick who took a on him
the following year, didnt even need that pos to get pass the okc and into the finals, only to see the turd showed his true ego levels by selling out how to stop green in the finals for game 5, the same game 5 this pos said he was injured, yet had no problem chucking hero mode, then he goes and the bed in game 6+7 against chalmers
dont get me started with finals campaign of 13/14
this clown has the worse leadership qualities that make avery johnson look like a real general
I remember that. Lot of spurfan felt they could handle the Lakers after this.
Still, mad props to them for following 8 With this run.
LA should've won that if Fisher wasn't such a stupid got.
But then Kobe cane back with this the second time around...
the years the spurs had gary neal or roger mason...wtf did pop try to expand their game into pg, which led to their downfall, and the spurs struggling with them as the ball handler... didnt make sense, either u draft a backup pg or get some 3rd string in...
agree, the Spurs would've been a lottery team now if the trio of Duncan/Manu/Parker were still their best players. Spurs recruited some real talented s through draft, trade or other means which allows the team to remain on the top tier, not to say they also have the best coach since red Auerbach.
with enriques albatross contract, no team is going to trade for that turd..40m/3yr remaining...
