Time to put it out on the line.

I'm predicting Chris Paul will be strong in the clutch this post-season. And yes, I'm sure he might miss a game-winner/game tying shot (as all star players do) and I'll get bumped, but I do think that his "clutch stats" (last 5 minutes, no team ahead by more than 5) in the playoffs will be significantly higher than the league average and even higher than his main PG counterparts (Lilliard, Parker, Westbrook, etc).

Can't argue with that. I hope Rique doesn't see a minute of floor in Game 3.

He's now upgraded his fake injury from a fake sore ankle to a fake Achilles injury. He might just sit out the rest of the series, which clinches a Spurs victory, tbh.

Nah, wasn't a jinx attempt. When I made this thread, CP3 was absolutely merciless in the clutch. Even CN agreed. Then a few months later, he got the yips.

He seemed to find his groove in the latter part of the season. I thought he'd put in a strong playoff campaign.

But unfortunately he's facing them Silver and Black jerseys, which, as you've said, make him his pants.

And yet he was a good coaching away from 3-1 series deficit. Oh well.

This is what I was ing worried about. I thought Chris Paul might finally have a career-defining series and overcome the Spurs, while at the same time deferring to Blake Griffin as the best player on both teams.

    God dammit. It's happening.

Nah, I had a feeling he'd have a great playoff run this year. Thought he was dead and buried last game, and then he responds with the 2nd greatest playoff performance of his career.

But that's the point after Game 3 plenty of people could have on you and this thread ...
Lot's of series left ... plenty of chances for Paul to vindicate you or to fail ...

I hope he fails and I get bumped into oblivion, of course. And I know CN is expecting Paul to the bed in game 5.

I think Im a good youth/HS level coach but I rarely question the genius that is Pop ... but why not Leave Kiwi and if foul trouble ...Green on CP3 all series? Why have him guard JJR?

Yep... Auscrub Rivers isn't going to be Speedy Claxton for a day again. Choke needs to keep doing this instead of switching into passive mode as usual when the role players clearly don't have it.

he is tough to decipher. Even tonight a few times he played hot potato even though the team was looking for him to close this game out. I really think he tires out not that he is a choker. He plays so hard. He is not the GOAT closer or a choker he is a great PG who is undersized dribbles too much sometimes but competes as hard as anyone. Was AI a choker? He never won a le. People think of him as chucker but no one called him a choker ... like they do Paul. It's crazy.

Iverson at least led a team to the Finals... Choke has yet to get past the second round.

What do you think will happen now? This series has been really difficult to predict, but you seem pretty objective.

IDK. Pop will make adjustments, obviously, and unlike last time, Doc needs to get off his ass and actually coach instead of waiting three games to finally respond. Based on the season as a whole, the odds still favor the Clippers getting complacent per par and repeating Games 2 and 3 all over again, but maybe they'll actually grow a pair after finally winning when it matters in SA.
