Why would they go to Kawhi when they have the glorious Parker-Duncan 2-man game, tbh? That's just silly..
There were stretches in the second half where the Spurs just didn't make enough of an effort to run the O through Kawhi, in spite of the fact that he was matched up against smaller defenders. I've seen this happen on a few occasions and I just don't understand it. Is it lack of awareness from the other players, lack of aggressiveness on Kawhi's part, or sticking to plays called from the bench?
Either way, tough to see the Spurs miss so many opportunities to take advantage of a mismatch...especially in a loss. Anyone else see what I saw?

I agree. Also too bad we stuck with a enrique. It would also help Kawhi to get some ing breathing room even though the team is getting wide open ing 3 point shots too.
Not as long as TP can help it.. We are stuck with dribble dribble dribble and pnr with TD 2 man game.
Yep! The offense needs to go through Kawhi. This will allow him to get the shots he wants while pulling in the D/drawing double team to open other players/3pt shooters. With TP, the ball doesnt move enough and with Mills, it moves, but nothing happens. Its either not passed or just moves on the perimeter. Something needs to change. I think Cojo would create and move it way better than Mills or TP, but I dont know if he will ever be considered.
Kawhi not getting involved is all on POP in the end. If its TPs, the teams, or Kawhis fault due to lack of aggression, I dont know, but it doesnt matter. POP should see that the team needs an impact and make it happen. Sometimes the "system" just wont get it done. Sometimes 1 player needs to go above and beyond. Without Kawhi on offense, I dont think the Spurs win 1 game.
Not intended to be a Parker bashing thread. Many other players initiated the offense and chose not to get the ball to him.
Would rather let Parker shoot than that ing scrub
I need more Parker dribbling the clock out and Manu turnovers tbh.
big 3 for life..
with a pg refuses to shoot anything between 5 & 20 feet. It's either a layup or a corner three, that's it. The difference between a pg having a mid range game and not is clearly evident in this series.
This was the perfect game to run the offense through him in the second half but sadly the Spurs wasted the chance.
Barnes was in foul trouble, Paul, too. Rivers was guarding Kawhi for long time and even when Leonard demanded the ball in the post, his teammates ignored him and Pop didn't call a play to exploit the matchup.
And we had their big 3 in foul trouble. Blown opportunity
It's all about the two man game.
I don't know why either, especially when we blew them out and the big 3 only scored 12 in game 3, i thought it signaled a changing of the guard??? Guess not.![]()
