it seems like we can get a good shot whenever we want, specially if Ginobili is not being dumb and just being a facilitator

Misguided analysis. Both Diaw and Mills can take a good portion of the blame for losing on Sunday. Mills played atrocious D and couldn't hit a three and Diaw couldn't guard or outrebound Griffin and failed to take any three point shots the Clippers were daring him to take, thus making him less effective as a stretch 4.

I'm assuming you meant the finals only because both of those players hit big shots during the playoff runs in 2013 and 2014. But to suggest its per usual, you should cite more than just one year each. The truth is they both have been reliable playoff players almost their entire careers. I know their games have dropped recently with age and injury, but it's not like they haven't done well for us for years. But since you just started watching the Spurs in 2013, apparently you arrived at that conclusion.

I agree about the future. My only concern is TP's contract. I love TP and think he would be a great locker room force, floor manager, and occasional 20 pt. outburst guy for a long time, but the FO and TD/Manu negotiated really great deals when those two's production started to slip. With Tony, it's like the championship high caused them to throw reason out the window. From '06-'13, he was a monster. In 2014, it was clear he hit a wall (stats reflect this), but he was given the 4 yr./~$55M extension at $12-15M/yr. It may not seem like a big deal, especially with the salary cap going up, but for the next 3 years his contract is going to be the one you point to and say "one of these things is not like the others". Diaw's and Splitter's contracts are palatable because they're not eight figure per year deals, and those guys are unlikely to regress quickly. Tiago's still elite and was a big reason for our late season success until he got hurt again.

Tony is going to be earning $5-6M/yr. that should be spread between Green/Joseph/Baynes/Beli, probably in that order. Green and Joseph are really good two-way guys (and, importantly, closer to Kawhi in age). Baynes is tall, and he's growing into a two-way guy. The depth he provides becomes critical if TD retires. Now it's going to be very difficult to keep that group and Kawhi and be a player in FA. I digress, though; I'm not a salary cap guru. Maybe the front office has got the numbers figured out.
