I still remember Kobe & Derek crying like it was yesterday.![]()
Awesome? Terrible article, key moments though
"Richard Jefferson Catches an Alley-Oop Dunk and Then Rides David Lee Like the Donkey He Is"
I think this is more memorable for the no handed push did after the dunk![]()
Speaking of memorable Jefferson moments, this one was way better... Especially during a time when the Spurs dunking was rare.
Touché, as actual literary pieces go it was nothing special. But I appreciate the nostalgia.
Terrible from a journalistic standpoint, but Serrano is such a nerdy dudebro that from time to time he ejaculates one of these hyperbolic masterpieces. He's a sports writer for the Internet age.
I legitimately laughed out loud at this.It was the 2003 conference finals. The Spurs were winning the series 3-2 but were losing the game by 65 points. Little Stevie Kerr came in, scored 95 points in a row, the Spurs went on to win their 15th NBA le in a row.

That was written by Shea Serrano.
I was JUST about to edit that, because I'd typed Simmons by mistake without realizing I meant to say Serrano.
Serrano is a big homer, tbh...
The bit about Bruce's dedication to only kick folks in the month of March was pretty funny.
I wish he would have included Bruce kneeing Nash in the nuts and the Horry hip check. What else am I missing?
He's an actual Spurs fan. Simmons might have paved the way for the fan-becomes-blogger generation. Sports writers in the past were expected to be neutral and that is no longer the case.
Yeah, he's not the sharpest writer (Serrano), but I appreciate some of his older columns.
Mills can emulate Steve Kerr in these playoffs if given the chance by Pop.
