The Dallas Mavericks opted not to give departed point guard Rajon Rondo a playoff share, sources said.
Rondo, who was acquired by the Mavericks in a blockbuster trade in December, left the team after the first two games of their first-round playoff series against Houston. The Mavs announced that Rondo had suffered a back injury, but a source told ESPNDallas.com that the team and Rondo actually reached a mutual decision to go their separate ways after he played only 9 minutes and 55 seconds in Dallas' Game 2 loss.
The other 14 players on the roster evenly divided $208,940, which is awarded to teams that lose in the first round of the playoffs. Houston beat Dallas in five games in the best-of-seven series.
Players determine how the team's playoff shares are divided. The players did not vote to exclude Rondo, the source said. They were simply presented with a list that did not include him, and there were no objections.
Rondo will become a free agent this summer. Coach Rick Carlisle has made it clear that he does not expect Rondo to return to Dallas.

More than Fisher too?
Damn, forgot about his small stint in Dallas.
Rondo is a P.O.S, he belongs in L.A. Sorry The Gemini Method, it's true.
I don't want him...but I wouldn't put it past our incompetent front office to add him...
don't be hating on L.A. son...
I was telling my cousin who happens to a be a Laker fan that he doesn't want Rondo, and I gave him a rundown. But all he cares is that Rondo is a name, and he actually believes that Rondo is elite. I hope you don't feel the same my Hawk Brethren
Edit: Didn't see your post above, just responded to the actual post itself. Glad you don't want him.
This draft though....11 picks!
I don't want Rondo. We have a pretty good PG that I would like to develop in Clarkson. I would like to see what Randle can bring to the table and break out my Kobe jersey one last time and say au revoir to him. If we have to suck for another op 5 pick, so be it. I'll be watching the Seahawks' redemption story fold out.
Fisher was in Dallas?
Randle for Corey Joseph strait up?
Rondo will come to the Lakers and make the allstar. Cuban will vomit.
I'd like to see what he can do for us first...
He got traded there but was bought out or something.
He pulled the "I can't play basketball because of my sick daughter" card, got bought out, then signed with OKC like 2 weeks later.
I'm proud to say that the Mavs game I saw where he was in uniform, I loudly booed him every time he touched the ball, which confused everyone around me since I was obviously rooting for Dallas.
Bad look by the Mavs. Rondo's a piece of , but, he should get that share.
Why? He quit
at least ur good for some laughs
if this clown gets more then mle next season...lol the gm
ing , he pulled the same to get out of Utah...
Don't think his teammates wanted him to get it even.
Worse acquisition - Jeff for the Spurs or Rondo for the Mavs?
