    melvin gordon
    worst pick in the draft
    multiple picks for him
    chargers
Gordon is a solid pick, tbh...

I just don't understand why they picked him up. He doesn't fit their style and they have no offensive line. Trading multiple picks means they must have known Houston was going to take him (no surprise).

If we're talking on raw talent, I have him fourth behind Cooper, DGB and White
i dont care about raw talent unless im in the latter half of the draft, tbh... unless it's accompanied by skill. Parker is the best at high-pointing balls, body control, and probably the best hands. he does lack elite suddenness

Rams with a turrible pick. It looked for a couple years like NFL front offices had finally learned that running backs are a waste of a first-round pick, but I guess not.

I think he's better than White overall. But I think Cooper and DBG have more potential. Really, it's a no-lose situation for any of them.

The Chargers offensive line is terrible, tbh... getting power back is kind of a lateral move for this franchise and their system.

No one there left worth spending a 1st round pick on. Wouldn't you be terrified at the thought of Donald Brown being the leading back for an entire season?

Running backs are becoming underrated in general.

When Carolina lost DeAngelo, Stewart and Tolbert this year, our team got exponentially worse. Scrubs can't just hold down the running back position. Most teams that have a good running game have high-end running backs that were drafted early. I don't think this is a bad move for SD... it probably helps pro-long Rivers career too. But they really need to find a good offensive lineman in the draft. I don't know how many there will be in round two. Fortunately/unfortunately for them, they have multiple needs at that position, so they should be able to find at least one plug

I can hear the moving vans to LA being loaded up as we speak as a result of this typical Chargers -up. Can't wait to see another year where McCoy/Reich get a pass for running it up the middle for no gain on first, second and third down because everyone blames the O-line!

    No O-line, no problem.

    Gordon going for 2000 yards.

Nope. Get a real O-line and Brown would start producing more.

That's complete BS and you know it. So you're saying that backs are completely pointless and are entirely dependent on their O-line's ability? I'll take Telesco's view over yours.

My point is that a good run-blocking O-line is more important than any individual running back to the success of a running game. Or are we going to pretend that Blount, Vereen, and Ridley are superstars? Get an offensive line who can actually block and all you need is a few role players. Woodhead, Brown, and Oliver would be fine with a better O-line.
