Davis has been a huge shot in the arm for the clips this series off the bench. And since the clips don't have a bench, anything coming off the pine and resembling productive mins is a major boon for LAC.

Davis is also pretty much the only rest Griffin can get. If Davis is not playing, Doc leans towards playing a worn out Griffin over a rested Hawes and Griffin slays till the 4th when halfway through he runs out of gas, collapses, and turns the ball over, makes a mental mistake or just doesn't have the juice to get those top of the key j's to drop and it's an advantage for the Spurs.

Hawes or the Turk will come in a drain three pointers all the way to a big blowout ... they will on the Spurs like the Spurs did on Dallas last year in game 7

Would be nice if we can get that troglodyte Jordan in foul trouble early.

Fat Boy burns minutes and he can actually defend bigger guys.

His fat ass will be on the bench instead of setting moving picks on Saturday.
These people who think Hawes / Hedo are going to contribute are crazy. Yes, Hawes is a better shooter but that's about it. Davis provided essentially all the backup 4/5 minutes for this team. Who does Doc turn to now if the Spurs go hack-a?

Alternative is to run Barnes at the 4 and go with three of Paul/JJ/Jamal/Austin Toros.

Mild strain. It was some performance on the bench...like he was giving birth. I guess he really is the Big Baby.

He defended Duncan fairly well... but...

The benefit is if we can get Griffin in foul trouble early... he gets pulled and we do Hack-a-Jordan... do they leave Griffin in or Jordan? They won't be able to pull both really

I doubt he'll play at all, or if so, he'll be ineffective.

According to local sportstalk radio in LA, the injury is worse than the Clippers are publicly acknowledging.

Its a big deal if he can't play. Hawes is terrible. Ya he can hit a 3, but so can a lot of guys in the NBA. His D is awful, and it will up their tempo and timing. That being said, the Clippers bench isn't gonna be what gonna make the difference. We need Austin Rivers to remember game 4. Hopefully he'll lay a bunch of bricks. Tiago is feeling better and hopefully Kia is tiring down. GSG

none, spencer hawes is better than him
The guy that Doc has trusted with 6 minutes of actual playoff basketball. Big Baby was actually good.

Only a handful of centers can hit 3s. ( Bosh, Antic, Ibaka) I think Doc will only play him 5 minutes, but that really depends on 'Dre's FTs. Doc has taken Dre out of game 4 and 6 because he was killing them with his FT shooting (he only played 32 and 36 minutes in those games. If they have to go with Hawes for 10 minutes or small ball with Paul-Red /Rivers-Crawford-Barnes and Griffin. That could end up being a big plus for the Spurs. Spurs can go

    Parker/Mills
    Green/Manu
    Leonard/Beli
    Leonard/Diaw
    Duncan/Diaw

Big Baby was playing the backup 4 and 5. They don't have another backup 4 that can play basketball. Blake will likely need to go 44 minutes. The other 4 minutes will probably go to Barnes (who after big baby has the highest foul rate on the clippers, he fouls once every 8 minutes). The bigger problem is backup center.

If Jordan is clanking FTs 5 minutes to go in a tight game. Doc has to make a decision whether to take him out (he did in game 4 and game 6). That means either Blake at the 5 or Hawes at the 5.

Paul-Red -Crawford-Barnes-Griffin could be the closing unit until the 2 minute mark. Spurs could match with Parker-Green-Leonard-Diaw and Duncan lineup, which has outscored the Clippers by +5.7 ppg

If you're listening to ESPN Radio, that's the all-Kirby-ballwashing-all-the-time station, so I'd take that with a grain of salt.
