Patty Mills needed to be in the game at the end. No question about it. It was infuriating watching Tony attack the basket against 2-3 defenders, only to get stuffed or miss badly.

Hero should've slowed it down and dumped it down to old reliable. No Jordan in the game. Timmy would've carried us home just like he has so many times.
^^^ That last part says it all, we got them back after that 013 loss and that was the icing on the cake. Spurs played hard.
Props to Matt Barnes outplaying FMVP and DPOY is the most important game of the series.
Hitting 3s, grabbing that crucial off.reb from a missed FT, shutting down FMVP and blocking that last alley oop plays
man. Harlem is absolutely right. I was ing yelling for Tony to pull that ball back, and man...just sucks right now. You hit it on the head Harlem, this was the sequence of the game.
50 seconds left, tie game... KawhISO pulls up from 18, brick
Yup. One of the dumbest PG's I've ever seen in my life. Just a stupid, stupid player. He'll go down in history as one of the most overrated point guards of his generation. Carried to multiple rings because of Timmy and Manu.
The play calling/execution out of timeouts was worse this season than any I can remember and flat out atrocious in the playoffs. It's as if they turned into the Raptors overnight.
It was also a season of bad luck. I can't recall seeing more high degree of difficult buzzer beaters and it burned them again tonight, though I blame them on some of the Paul ones. The guy has a messed up hamstring and instead of making him create, they allow him to step into wide open threes.
Tony was NEVER a point guard. He grew up idolizing Michael Jordan. Like Kobe, all he wanted to be was a heroballer. What the French got never realized was he never had the talent to actually follow through. His extremely poor career playoff percentages reflects this.
Reasons we lost:
1) Couldn't score on fast breaks. Leonard and Parker in particular should have scored on some of those.
2) Didn't make enough free throws. 13/20 isn't good enough in a game 7.
3) Left 3-point shooters wide open several times. And they made all of them.
4) Didn't use enough clock at the end. Basically the OP nailed this point.
In that order.
Ansolutely. Get that. Win.
Hmmmm....just like 6.
It's not about running clock. Trying to run clock with a lead is how Paul choked Game 5 away in OKC last year. Parker should have pulled it out not because of the clock, but because he sucks now and wasn't going to hit that layup.
Doc outcoached Pop the whole series, out of time outs, rotations, P&R's, defensive rotations, called out the refs.... Pop was garbage at play calling after timeouts the whole season. It's always a Manu ISO, Duncan fadeaway, or a lob (Duncan's lucky lob where Asik tipped it in)
If that was Manu with the ball I'd say absolutely go for the layup. Or even if it was 2014 Parker. Or 2002 Parker.
The mishandled rebound and those fastbreaks TP blew. Doug Collins used to say it all the time. Usually when you miss an easy fastbreak on one end it ends up burning you.
TP used to be a 1-man fastbreak.
TP being shift with the rebound then fouling Blake when we were up 5 with all of the momentum was the game-changer.
Paul's 3 after Manu's bricked FT was also huge.
Or maybe any of those missed transition opportunities that led to clipper 3s the other way.
Bottom line is that the clippers stepped up and hit big shots in the last minute and our guys didn't.
Also, that last play was atrocious
Manu used to be clutch at the line. No longer has it.
thought the same at the moment
Happened on more than one occasion!
lol the wallowing has begun
We lost twice last night?
You're both right. These are not mutually exclusive. The Spurs might have been able to withstand one of these huge miscues, but not both. And both by Parker.
freethrows is what killed us. The clippers outside of Jordan, hit their freethrows. We haven't hit outrs the whole series. I was shocked that doc rivers didn't do the hack a shaq with duncan and splitter. We sucked at the line this series.
