Contrary to earlier thinking, it wasn't a shot clock official who triggered the clock early in the last second of Spurs-Clippers game 7, thereby necessitating a reset and giving away the spurs' final play, which could not be altered the second time around. It was referee Monty McCutchen. McCutchen also called the foul on Duncan in final minute that gave CP3 2 FTs.
We can talk about the spurs not putting themselves in a position to win the game. That's one thing. But they were in it right until the final play. It's fair to say McCutchen's calls in the final minute essentially sealed the game in the Clippers' favor, and this was a particularly egregious mistake for him to make in a crucial moment.
Where was he in '04 when we needed him?![]()
hes obviously been bribed.
rofl at having Matt Bonner in there and not using your other timeout.
It was a play call too. Pop should have called another timeout after the inadvertent buzzer and drawn up a 3 like Lillard hit last year.
What a joke of a series from the coaching standpoint.....
The ridiculous part was that they held the ball to let the Clips set their defense.
Yeah. I was losing my mind when they let that happen.
Not a conspiracy, it's a fact. Crimson chin can suck a
Believe it on that.
yeah was wondering why Coach pop didnt use his last TO to change the play!?
after the inadvertent whistle, Coach Pop use the exactly same play, WTF!?
had that happened to the Clips and they had lost the series in that fashion, ther controversy would be all over ESPN, Doc and players would have called the refs out in the post game interviews, all sorts of nonsense. Happens to us and we just take it like we're ing supposed to and move on. Never leave it up to the refs.
Pardon me for not knowing but officials can start the game clock themselves?
Pop still had a timeout though. Like many have said before, he just didn't give a this year.
Spurs should demend a rematch...
Can we get a clip of that up in the thead i started on McCutchens rip off of Duncan?
I was also completely unimpresses with Pops
classy
suck off of the Clippers.
He started the post game presser with that before being asked any questions.
As to the 1 second rip off and calling another play, he simply said "Not a lot you can do with one second".
Go retire already you farking quitter.
Pop wasn't lying when he said he'll come back because the money is nice. Also gets to drink before games
Spurs probably lose in the 2nd round anyways but damn, one of the worst calls I've ever seen.
Please someone send this to skip bayless.
This series was given to the clips to give a little payback to ballmer for buying the clips.
The real conspiracy was Pop playing Parker
