i don't dispute that and have no problem with him even with his character to a certain degree. but to think he could get away with the way he fights right now in his early stages, is foolish. Boxing does not exist to beat the opponent, it exists to knock out the opponent. Otherwise people would watch what is today called as amateur boxing.

Watch his banter and featherweight fights, you don't have to think. Relative to the pace of his weight class, he's always been carefully ddefensive . that's what boxing is about at its highest point of compe ion. The knockout is not the goal of boxing, it's the consequence of bad defense.
