You might like the explaination Da Suns Fan came up with, KAM. The Spurs are basically vultures who feed off of dynasties that die off and win their le through opportunity, not championship basketball.

The last dynasty were Jordan's Bulls (6 for 7 with Jordan on the roster). The Spurs began their reign in the post-Jordan era. And we never know how the Spurs would've fared against that aging Bulls team, who were a Jordan pushoff from getting beat by Karl Mal
A better label for the Spurs would be potential dynasty killers. Killed the Lakers before they became a dynasty. Killed the Pistons repeat effort (a team that demolished the Lakers a year prior). Killed the Miami Heat, both literally and figuratively.
And yet they still tied the Kobe's 5.
