Seems like they went too soon and gave Paul too much time to score. They could have wound the clock down and shot a 3 with a couple of seconds left. If it goes in, they win. If he misses, the Spurs still get a rebound and tie.

The Spurs were making big shots. AND they were getting offensive rebounds. I'd much rather have it the Spurs hands and win or lose based on them being able to score. Instead of giving it to back to Paul and the Clippers who were also making shot after shot.

The cruel irony is that Duncan made both free throws. Normally, he would have made the first and missed the second and give the Spurs a chance to rebound. Which would 1) have run more time off the clock and 2) give the Spurs a chance to go up by 2 or 3.

That was a badly coached/played last minute by the Spurs. Pop probably just wanted the season to be over.

Only mistake was saving the timeout after the shot clock incedent. At least he should have taken it, e.g. switch Bonner for Manu to make it look like something else...then run the hoop play anyway.

No problem with his coaching otherwise!

Because the refs robbed us of rightfully having the last possession with 13 seconds on the clock?

It's all shoulda, coulda, woulda now. Spurs need to focus on next season now for another le run, retool, resign Leonard, and Duncan/Manu on cheap 1 year deals, hope Pop keeps coaching, try and sign Aldridge.

Not quite. Season would have been over had they closed it out in 6. Instead, it extended it another few days.

That would be your team 2 years in a row, would say three but unlike the Spurs they missed the playoffs the year before those exits...
