Future Spur?

Hope he pans out.
Why? Why give a scholarship to a guy who's dad is multimillionaire? There are kids out there who cannot afford to go to college, but David's son gets a free ride because, well...he's David's son.
Some black kid received a letter of denial and basically lost his future because of this. Congrats.
Because he earned it? Maybe Andrew Luck didn't deserve a scholarship at Stanford either because his dad was pretty well off.
And at good, wealthy schools like Duke, if you are qualified to get in you will not end up with loads of student debt. Same goes for the Ivies (who don't have athletic scholarships) - if your family makes under six figures, you have a good chance at ending up with a full ride.
Because Kansas will? Because you don't want to anoint him as the rich kid, because the ncaa doesn't like weirdness, because coach k treats his kids right
Because it doesn't matter how much money a kid's parents make. He earned the scholarship.
Sure he did.
It's what Jesus wanted tbh
i laughed at that post tbh
Black kids with reasonably mediocre scores don't get rejected from college. There's homeboys don't be do dat English in pharmacy school with a 2.3 GPA.
Chances are that multimillionaire dad becomes interested in Duke for the first time, donates to it, and helps to create multiple scholarships down the road.
Why do you assume a black kid lost a scholarship? Maybe a Cherokee Parks, JJ Red , or Kyle Singler type of player lost out, and is now going to Santa Clara or Creighton instead.
So Dad's influence is what got Jr in.
Too bad Jamal from the heights doesn't know his dad, else he might have a shot. Probably not. Good job Dave.
I'm not talking about a rejection letter. I am talking about not being able to afford to go.
Need-based scholarships are prioritized to Hispanics and Blacks, then everyone else second. They'll be fine.
because sports should always be seen as the only way out.
I have always heard the opposite. That you have to really be somebody to get big scholarships from places like Harvard, Yale, MIT as an undergrad. Now in grad school you pay for your education by TA'ing and doing research at a place like that, but undergrad?
There are no merit scholarships at Ivies. All need-based for undergrads.
You could be a Nobel Prize winner but if you can pay your own way, you will.
The truth is you don't really know the true situation... chances are Coach K thinks the kid will help him win games. You're just looking at it with an agenda.
Chances are what you just said is homer bull . Chances are that David and coach K are friends, and coach K pulls strings pretty hard, and Jr couldn't get any notice from colleges other than Duke so Dave got him in. Chances are Dave couldn't do at the Naval Academy, something about being a cadet and all that, and acceptance and grades and a whole bunch of other .
So, cars should be free for those who can't afford them but twice the price for the rich???
Yeah, it's all a great conspiracy to screw one other person out of a scholarship. That totally sounds like Coach K and David Robinson, who are secretly in the same KKK club.
This is a ridiculous understanding of the situation. If a kid even had an outside chance at playing at Duke, then he's sure as not going to have a problem getting on with another Division 1 program. His future is hardly "lost."
Look at his stats. It's not like he was star player in HS but now he's with 5 other guys who are 5 star players. Any HS in the region has a player at least as good as him. They just don't have a pro baller's son.

Yeah, him. Let the kid of the rich baller have his choice and the poor kid go to Towson, home of choo choo.
